Everything was perfect at the Old Lock-Up, from the friendly reception to the excellent food. We couldn't have asked for better hosts and such a lovely, historical, interesting building. Additionally, the location is right in the middle of the gorgeous Peaks District, so there is great access to many beautiful outdoor activities. Perfect!

Room Tip: you can't go wrong!

What a wonderful place. Everything about it is just fantastic. Tony and Vivienne are can only be described as the most hospitable hosts we've ever come across. The breakfasts are great with a good choice. The rooms are very clean with lots of little extras to make the stay more comfortable. The surrounding area is very interesting and beautiful.

This is a B & B with a difference - as the name indicates. It's steeped in history, which is fascinating, and Tony & Vivienne have furnished and decorated it in an appropriate style. They also have some very interesting artefacts.
Their hospitality is first class: warm, welcoming and helpful. The breakfasts are excellent - a good choice, well cooked, well presented, and generous in size.
We stayed in the Solicitors Room, which was attractive and very comfortable. There was a plentiful supply of toiletries, drinks and biscuits and a little box of chocolates which was a nice touch.
The area is great for walking as well as having good public transport links and plenty of interesting places to visit.
Heartily recommended!

The Old Lock Up is a wonderful find. It is full of charm and character and we received a warm and friendly welcome from Viv and Tony. Our bedroom was full of home comforts and extra welcoming touches. The choice of breakfast is better than many five star hotels and beautifully presented. The surrounding area is lovely, with many places to see. We would thoroughly recommend The Old Lock Up.

Room Tip: All the rooms are lovely!
