Spent four nights at Ivy Cottage in January. Everything we could possibly need for a cozy relaxing stay. Very well located. Were made to feel very welcome by the owners. Thank you both for basket of complimentary "goodies". Would add a great place to bring children - lots to keep them entertained on a miserable day. Holding that thought as we have a 7 year old grandson !! Good local village pub and shop. thank you both for a a lovely stay.
Along with our friends we had a great stay in Ivy cottage. spotlessly clean, spacious, extremely well equipped.
Great Wi Fi and telephone coverage ( allowing us to constantly boast to family and friends!!)
Comfortable good quality furniture, warm and very welcoming.
Easy walk to the Bowling green Pub for a welcoming drink in front of a roaring fire.
I am barely home and booking to return later in the year.
Just what we needed, a superb break in the Peak district. Nice walks even if the weather was a bit inclement (but what do you expect for January).
The cottage was everything it said it was. Although there was only two of us, I can see how flexible it is for large family gatherings.
I could go on and on but I won't - Just read the reviews and get yourself here. Its as good as everyone says..
This is a wonderful cottage with everything you need, cosy but with lots of space for everyone. Very well equiped - it even had a book with walks around Winster, which we made full use of! Winster is an absolutely stunning village, beautiful location with a charming community run shop.
We stayed at Ivy Cottage in Winster over the New Year period as two families. This is a great place to stay. There was everything we needed, home from home. Our children loved the games room, as did the grown ups as they could do their own thing. Ivy Cottage is a great location for trips out to Bakewell and Matlock.
Beautiful cottage and great location. We had a lovely christmas stay at Ivy Cottage in winster and would definitely go back again. Already recommended to family for summertime walking holiday which would be perfect.
Ivy cottage is situated in the picturesque Peak District village of Winster, complete with two pubs and a village shop cum Post Office. It is within easy reach of Bakewell, Chatsworth and various other popular attractions, including numerous hiking routes and climbing locations.
The pub located in the centre of the village has some good ales and, supposedly good food, though we couldn't vouch for the latter as its kitchen was closed for refurbishment during our stay (it closes on Mondays and Tuesdays as standard).
The cottage itself is well equipped, with pretty much everything needed for a comfortable stay. It has 3 reception rooms, including a cosy snug, 3 bedrooms and a modern kitchen and bathroom.
Two of the bedrooms are large sized doubles and the third is smaller with two single beds. The larger bedrooms are more appealing and suited to couples (or individuals who prefer more space!).
The owners provide a hands on service, living close by. We arrived to find a nice welcome hamper with a few treats included.
My fellow hikers and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily return.
