A perfect B&B in every way. It has only been open a year, and feels very fresh. Linda and Gary are so welcoming, and seem to have thought about all the little details, making it a real 'home from home' experience. As other guests have noted, we were provided with tea and cakes on arrival, and some recommendations for where to enjoy an evening meal. We went for the Anchor just outside the village, and although we hadn't booked, they were able to fit us in and made us feel very welcome as well. The breakfast at Meadow Lodge was just wonderful - a huge choice, with fresh fruit salad, pastries, etc, as well as the excellent and very filling 'full Derbyshire'. Our visit happened to coincide with the Tideswell Food Festival, and Linda - who runs a catering business as well - kindly provided us with a box of cakes as a parting gift! So yes, we will DEFINITELY be going back!

We booked a three night stay having noted the high Tripadvisor ratings but, expecting much, we were still greatly impressed. It is Linda and Gary's attention to detail that makes this the best
B & B in which we've stayed. From the linen napkins at breakfast to the abundance of fresh flowers to provision of Buxton Spring Water in the bedroom etc. etc. etc. Locally sourced ingedients ensured that we enjoyed definitive (and substantial) full Derbyshire breakfasts. A fellow guest said, "We've never been here before but I think we've fallen on our feet!"

Arrived to pot of tea and homemade scone- my long delay on the M1 was quickly dismissed. Stunning views across the Derbyshire Dales. Room spacious and comfortable- spotless everywhere. Breakfasts very special, everything you could want. Linda and Gary are warm, welcoming hosts and provided good tips for eating out locally. I just hope I can find an excuse to return soon!

I felt at home immediately. Excellent accommodation - I found Meadow Lodge a great place to stay whilst on a course at the Tideswell School of Food.

Landlords Linda and Gary were very kind and helpful, and made us feel very welcome. We were given tea and cake on arrival to enjoy in the living room, which has stunning views across the fields. We had a delicious breakfast before heading off for a walk in the local area, using one of the walk description printouts provided. We had a most enjoyable stay and a visit to Meadow Lodge is highly recommended.

Another warm welcome from Linda with pots of tea and Chocolate cake. She gave us lots of ideas of places to book a meal and was quite right about the Bulls Head and Foolow.Breakfast was superb,,,fresh fruits, full cooked, smoked salmon, croissants, speciality breads,,,,yum yum! It was my friends Birthday and she even put us glasses ,plates and a wine cooler in the lounge for us to enjoy a post dinner celebration. Rooms are so warm and comfortable with a generous hospitality tray. I wish she had three rooms to let as my other friend had to go somewhere else to sleep.. However Linda even invited her for coffee after we had all Breakfasted....what a nice thought. All in all.a fantastic hight quality B and B and Linda and Gary are excellent hosts. Can't wait to go again.

Room Tip: The front room has lovely views over the country side

Excellent in every respect, the room, decor, food and perhaps most importantly the welcome. Breakfast is astonishing with an almost overwhelming selection. In addition, the setting is spectacular with views across the Peak District. Despite a forecast of snow I had managed to forget my winter jacket and Gary was quick to offer one of his. We found home made cake awaiting us on our return to Meadow Lodge during the afternoon. Linda also told us about the best place to get a new pair of walking boots and she was absolutely right.
