Our 3td stay in this peaceful cottage. Once again brilliant information and communication with the owner. Great location for exploring the area and good pubs within walking distance or if you want to cook for yourselves the kitchen is well eqipped to do so.
Will definately return again.
We had a fabulous week in Tideswell in Swift Cottage in November. The cottage is beautifully located and very well equipped. The beds were super comfy too. We enjoyed lots of long walks, eating at several local pubs/cafes/restaurants. Our Labrador, Monty, was in his element, even though he isn’t used to hills (we live in Norfolk!). We had glorious weather too. Thank you so much- we will be back!
Swift Cottage does exactly what it says on the tin! A holiday cottage with a very high standard of fixtures and fittings, comfortable and well-equipped with lovely views from the quality garden furniture, clean and well maintained. Any issues that arise are very quickly addressed by the owner - we couldn't figure out how to use the satellite T.V. - and a text message query was answered within 5 minutes by a phone call with a full explanation! The cottage is on the edge of Tideswell which makes it very quiet and peaceful, but it's still only a short walk to all the amenities - including the excellent fish and chips at the Corner Chippy and the very good real ale at the Star Inn. It's very easy to travel from Tideswell to a range of different places: Ashbourne - a stunning Georgian town; Eyam, with a fascinating history as well as a fabulous Jacobean hall; Castleton and the Dove valley, with stunning scenery and excellent walking and the Monsal Trail which is only a short drive away. Would definitely recommend!
Swift Cottage is a clean, comfortable cottage in the heart of the beautiful Peak District, ideal for exploring the surrounding countryside and quaint towns and villages. Tideswell is also charming with local amenities on your doorstep. We enjoyed and recommend the Monsal cycle trail, great fun, whilst enjoying the spectacular scenery. We will return to Swift Cottage to explore more of this lovely national park.
We left home to then arrive in a beautiful village covered in snow and a perfect cottage with amazing views from the bedroom window. Swift cottage is a well equipped home from home situated in a village surrounded by gorgeous countryside. Brilliant communication from the owners would love to return again. Thank you
We booked Swift Cottage on the strength of the excellent Tripadvisor reviews - we certainly weren't disappointed!
The cottage was decorated for Christmas, with a very nice tree with lights. There was a lovely welcome pack as well.
The cottage is extremely well equipped, probably the best we've ever had. It was also extremely clean, which was a very big plus! The wood burner was very easy to light and use. The bathroom is finished to a very high standard.
The cottage is situated within easy walking distance of several pubs. We found the Horse and Jockey did basic but good pub grub, with an excellent choice of real ales, and a very friendly atmosphere.
The Anchor Inn was quiet the night we went in just after Christmas, but we were made very welcome, and the home-made pies and puddings are superb!
From the moment I made the first enquiry, Charles was extremely helpful and efficient, and the whole experience was completely painless.
Thank you Charles and Adelle for a lovely stay.

Lovely cottage. Cosy and clean.
Very nice neighbours (John and Jenny) that feed the birds each morning so we got a great display of colourful birds and a cheeky squirrel or two.
Fantastic friendly village. George and dragon excellent. Both chip shops excellent too with maybe the corner chip shop edging it with their chips.
High nellies very good.
Local hill walking (Tideswell-Litton loop) is very pleasant even in December with a pub on route for a pint or two and a meal.
Definitely recommend stopping here.
