“Great place to stay with dogs”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 16, 2011

Great for dogs you can walk out the door and they have the run of about three hectacres of grounds. The accomadation was basic but clean, with two dogs though it is to be expected. Breakfast was amazing in the large dining room with as much extras as you could possibly want and the owners wanted to do their best for you.
The Admiral chip shop is also an added bonus about 100 meteres up the road. Would go back

On arrival, which you must make sure it is after 17.30pm as there might not be anyone there. Usually you get a front door key and a room key, not in this case the owner opens and locks the door behind you. He did not know if i was in for breakfast etc. I did not see any fire alarms or smoke detector's a little unnerving considering all the electrical devices were plunged into one multi extension lead. The carpet was not hovered, there was not internet, I would imagine in winter the room would be cold. The bed was tiny and very soft, the windows rattled as the traffic thundered by. Its a shame the place is a let down, no shower just a bath with some of the enamel missing. How its rated by the AA i will never know. I was put in the old servants quarters.

Room Tip: Dont Bother

I was only one night, but I found a nice and quiet place with a nice yard in a house with history.
The rooms are large but may need better insulation in the windows, let in a little air in the room.
The service is very attentive and friendly. The dining room is awesome!
