This pub and the accommodation are fantastic. It's not a minus because you can play around it, but they only do lunch and the menu is , shall we say minimalist. That said, it's very nice. We stayed the saturday night (there is o evening food) but as a party of 7 of us, we were staying in the log cabins and we arranged a delivery from a local chinese,
Yes it's nice ot have an evening meal and cooked breakfast when you stay somewhere but maybe that would spoil it. For self-catering family reunions , there is no doubt, we'll be back!, Thank you

Arriving earlier than expected, we were still shown to our own timber cabin that flanked the car park of the Inn.
The rear side of the cabins have broad views of the trent valley from their advantage point some twenty feet above the flood plain. A true countryside idyll. Birds singing in the trees and the smell of the countryside in your nostrils.
The accommodation consisted of a timber cabin split into a lounge/seating area with leather sofa and chair with shelves and coffee table. Part of the same space was the kitchen of sink, fridge, microwave and hotplate, complete with cooking utensils, crockery and cutlery. The double bedroom with cupboard forming wardrobe, and store for ironing board and iron was off this area. The bathroom with shower, WC, and basin was also off the main area.
Flat screen TV, and heating appliances also included.
Bed linen and towels changed when required, and supplies of cereal, milk, tea and coffee, bread as required.

Totally self contained but if you require further contact, the Inn is just up the hill some 50 metres with restaurant, games room, and outside seating areas as well as beer brewed on the premises.

A fantastic package we were so fortunate to find with so many inbuilt benefits. Although our visit was brief, now we have found it, it will remain a firm favorite.

Went for just a few days to get away from it all. ...

Booking was so easy emailed and got a reply within the day.

Staff were so friendly whenever we saw them.

The lodge was so comfortable and had everything that you could need. I know it sounds silly but they even had nice big towels. DVD player was put in the room ready as I had requested.

Having the pub just across the car park was very good to didn't have to drive home :-) as the pub has such good beer defiantly an advantage :-)

Thank You Nick and all the staff can't wait to see you all again
