We stayed here for one night whilst attending a wedding. We had the 'garden room' which the previous reviewer also had, and we made exactly the same comments! On first look, the room was cosy, but having been in it for a few minutes, we noticed the finishes were cheap.

Both the room and bathroom were very cold. We also experienced wet towels in the morning as there was no heated towel rail and our dressing gowns felt damp.

The 'garden room' was a further disappointment as the door onto the garden had clearly not been used for some time as we couldn't open it! The staff said they would have maintenance fix it, but this didn't happen.

Breakfast was very nice - cooked fresh to order and plenty of choice.

However, I cannot fail to mention the service. It was arrogant to say the least....I asked for a coffee in the lounge, but was told they were incredibly busy so I should make one in my room and carry it through! There were more experiences like this throughout the 24-hour stay and out stay left us angry. Staying somewhere like this should be about the experience, not just a room for the night.

To summarise - beautiful building, but both the interior and the visitors could do with more pampering and attention!

Stayed for 2 nights while visiting Prestwold circuit for my husbands birthday. Kegworth is ideally located for the M1 and loughborough area but we were a little disappointed with the village itself. The restaurant (the cottage) was closed for 2 weeks holiday and the pubs didn't look up to much.
Kegworth House is rated by the AA as 5 diamonds however we were a little disappointed with a couple of things and I'm not sure that I'd say it was 5 star. In a couple of areas it could do better.
Upon arrival we were greeted warmly and shown to our room which was at the back of the hotel, next to the garden. It was a cold room and although we were experiencing summer (at last) the room lacked sunlight and was not what I would term cosy. The room was nicely furnished, the bed was very comfy and the fresh flowers were a nice touch. However the room could benefit from a feather duster around the ceiling to remove the cobwebs.
A TV, DVD player, cd player, iron, hairdryer, safe and fluffy dressing gowns were included in the room. We were surprised there were no English teabags amongst the tea/coffee making facilities, but upon asking they were provided.
The bathroom was nice but cold, the shower very good (no bath) and there was no where to hang dressing gowns and no heated towel rail and consequently towels used in the evening were still wet the next morning.
Breakfast was served at a large table in the kitchen and was very good with plenty of choice and cooked to order and the staff were very friendly.
We ate out both evenings at The Otter which is 5-10 mins down the A6 towards Loughborough. The first night was excellent so we returned the following night but was disappointed as waited 45 mins for main course as no one removed our starter plates.
In all a pleasant stay at Kegworth House but I would not rate it as 5 star.

A lovely one-night stay here. The welcome on arrival was great and we were reassured to see that the car park is secure at night.

Our room was in the attic with a double bed and a double sofa bed. There wwere lost of nice touches like fresh flowers in the room. The bathroom was very new and had a great shower.

Apparently if you book in advance you can have an evening meal but as we hadnt we descended on the town. To be honest the two pubs recommended looked dire so we ended up in The Cottage restaurant which was a bit of a time warp but did great food at bargain prices.

Breakfast in the morning was served at one large table by an extremely friendly lady.

I stayed here with my husband last night as we had an evening planned in Nottingham. If you fancy a quiet country guest house then this is the place for you. The guest house is only about 10 miles from Nottingham so for us it was a good location and made a change from a city hotel. The staff at Kegworth House were really welcoming and friendly. The attention to detail is excellent and makes Kegworth House worth all of it's five stars. Breakfast was freshly cooked for us and was really good. Well worth a stay if you are in the area!

Just wanted to express how lovely Kegworth House is, and how brilliantly run i thought it was. The family are very welcoming and the rooms and service really is fantastic. Stayed there twice in 2 weeks as it is close to East Midlands airport!
Keep up the good work!
