Booked at short notice and my wife are so glad we did, Paddy from the off was the perfect host, rooms were very clean and had everything you could wish for ...especially the very tasty fruit vodka ...think it was a lovely addition to any room.
We only stayed a one night stay but felt so relaxed and at home ......not that we usually have vodka in the bedroom at home honest !! :0)
Breakfast was amazing the black pudding was out of this world one of the best I have tasted....my wife had the smoked salmon and scrambled egg and it was done to perfection .
Thanks for our lovely stay and we will be sure to visit again .

Room Tip: Beautiful views of the lovely garden from the Carsington Room

I am so pleased that Bramble Cottage met with your satisfaction, it was a pleasure to care for you and I have to agree the smoked salmon smoked over peat from North Uist (not the standard oak) and the black pudding from Stornaway (both in the Outer Hebrides) are very special. As they say in Scotland "Haste ye back". Thank you for taking the time to write a glowing review for me and my wonderful house. Kind regards Paddy.

We spent three nights here in July and can highly recommend it. A warm and friendly welcome, help finding suitable dining places, a vast and comfortable bedroom with king size bed and a wealth of litte details that made our stay extremely pleasant. Breakfast was a feast and prepared directly for us at the time we had indicated the previous evening. From the cottage we were within easy distance of all the Peak Districk sites and, with the very hot weather, it was a delight to return at the end of the day away from the crowds (and the fish and chip shops!) of Matlock or elsewhere! A huge thank you to Patricia.

We spent five nights at Bramble Cottage. Patricia is the consummate professional and we can guarantee you will have a first class stay in any circumstance. However, if you are prepared to put the effort into returning her friendly and open nature, you will be rewarded with a stay that far exceeds any 'first class' establishment. Patricia seemed to treat us almost as an extension of her family. She was genuinely interested in us, and always addressed us by our first names. Quite honestly, I challenge you to find a better hostess anywhere. (We can confirm that all the good news about standard of accommodation, breakfast etc. you read here is also true, but it was the personal touch that made everything so special for us).

We spent 2 wonderful nights here in June 2013.We received a very warm welcome from Patricia aka Paddy who showed us to our fabulous "Lady Bower" room.Spotlessly clean. The most comfortable bed (king size) we have ever slept in-such an effort to leave it in the mornings!.High quality satin striped white bedding.White bathrobes supplied.Excellent selection of teas & coffees,+ fresh milk left each night in a flask for your early morning cuppa! Our room had a private bathroom just along the landing.Breakfast was ordered the night before and was cooked fresh at the time we requested it.The breakfast was excellent in every way-cooked to perfection and well presented.Paddy recommended a pub nearby for a good quality meal (The Plough) which came up to expectations.A nice garden was well maintained. All in all a very enjoyable and welcoming stay.Highly recommended. Thanks Paddy & hope to see you sometime soon.

Room Tip: The Carsington room and The Bramble room had en-suite facilities. Our Lady Bower room had it's ow...

We were greeted by Patricia as we arrived to the Cottage for a one night stay in May 2013. Paddy was a wonderful host and booked us into a fabulous restaurant nearby for dinner. The cottage had such a sense of history which was great to stay in. Our room was warm and comfortable and well sized. Breakfast in the morning was similarly excellent. Thank you so much for an excellent stay.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Bramble room which was well sized an had original exposed beams. But the roof was h...
