Did an eight mile hike up to Stanage Edge, Via The Warren from Hatherage. The views from the top are second to none and the milestone rock formation is spectacular. Prefect sunshine on the way up, hail at the top and rain on the way down. Only noticed one pub in Hatherage (Little John) - that was okay.

Have been here lots of times. But it soon became a favourite once we became parents as the path is great for a pushchair and a good walk. Beautiful views at all times of year - always changing lots of beautiful colours.

Note - the wind is sometime quite bracing - be prepared.

Also if the children are younger you can hunt for trolls under the bridge. Take a picnic and venture into the woods.

Lots of little paths to explore if without a pushchair. Plenty of parking bit busy at weekends.

If you have the chance this is a truly magical walk. Looking over the cliffs into the villages is spectacular. It maybe windy but picturesque and dreamy with a packed lunch perfection.

Great circular walk, if you want you can climb up to the tip of the edge and incorporate Hathersage village centre into your walk.

Plenty of parking available at the start of the walk.

Well kept paths, a good day out.

Have driven nearby so many times, but this time on my day off we headed to Bakewell then Hathersage and decided to stop off and get to the top of Stanage Edge. It's a fair walk from the bottom car park, but our Springer loved it and it was a great 30 minute hike up to the top. Felt on top of he world when we got there, fantastic views. Will do it again when I need to feel small and I significant in the world!
