Lots of climbing to be had, miles of it.
Nice to see free toilets and a couple of vans selling snacks. Really friendly place with lots of parking!

Can be busy on main sections.

Great views, very quiet, a great place, could be a bit busy in the summer though as we were there on a very cold April day

We make regular trips to the area of Stanage Edge in the Peak District. It's a lovely landscape with wonderful views of the surrounding area and makes a great central point to any walk of the area. We have been to Stanage Edge in all seasons and through all weathers (sun, rain, wind, snow), and it's a great place to be whatever the weather. On this visit, the area was largely covered in snow, although it didn't snow whilst we were there. The wind blew but the sun intermittently shone through, ensuring a slightly sunburnt nose, forehead & cheeks! Whether Stanage Edge is deserted (on a windy wintry morning), or teeming with experienced climbers, youth groups on team building jaunts and walkers enmasse (on a warm sunny afternoon), it's a truly breathtaking place to be. For very little effort, people are greeted by great views, and there is much to see further afield for those seeking more excitement and exercise. I defy anyone not to be impressed by Stanage Edge.

Grew up in these hills.

Now live down south but bring my kids up here whenever I can.

Stanage is great to walk along and even better to climb

The kids equally love the nearby Higor Torr, Toads mouth and Padley gorge (perfect for a summer paddle)

Mountain bikers are denied access, which is a shame. Also, it could do with some fencing- walkers are going wherever they please and widening the track which is damaging. The view is great, though.
