I've been coming here on and off for the past 20 years and can vouch that they do the best chip butties and pint mugs of tea in the area! Great place to come after (or during) a climb or a walk and of course it's above the Outside climbing/walking gear shop which is always worth a browse (and please support Peak District shops and buy something!)
The meals and cakes are also very good and there is also a useful children's menu. Service can be slow so not a place to go for a meal if you're in a rush. However, there are magazines, paintings and books to look at (for adults as well as kids) so not a disaster if you have to wait.
