We are Sheffielders aged 60-ish and have been coming to the outdoor shops in Hathersage for years. Since our daughter moved to Australia and we have visited and discovered excellent coffee there, we have become dreadful "coffee snobs", often disappointed with what's on offer and always looking out for good independent coffee shops wherever we go. We were delighted to find Elliott's in Hathersage, a little bit apprehensive, but SO impressed when our coffee arrived and ticked all the boxes! We didn't have time for food or cake so didn't feel able to give the place 5 stars, but next time we're in the area we shall be back - this time not just for the outdoor shops.

Just had a lovely walk up Mam Tor/around Castleton but just had to drive to Hathersage for probably the best cup of coffee available within the area. Great cafe/restaurant which we have visited many times and which has left the competition standing.

A good place this with friendly outgoing people. The tea was particularly good - leaf tea - as was a delicious lunch time panini (goats cheese and pesto). They're clearly passionate about the food and drink they serve here.

They say muddy bots and dogs welcome and they are. We took our boots off to go upstairs, leaving them outside and they were kind enough to bring them in. Nice touch.

Quirky is a good thing by the way.

Myself and my friend briefly visited Hathersage today to look around the area and see what events were going on in the area (for our journalism project covering the Hope Valley region). We had 20 minutes spare after looking around, so we visited Elliotts tea room and it was excellent! Friendly helpful staff, delicious ginger fudge cake, and a perfect large pot of tea.

On future visits we very much intend to go to this cafe again :)
