“Brilliant Stay”
Reviewed December 20, 2011

Excellent location, I had the pleasure of staying at this hotel. The hotel ejnoys a great aspect and I was greeted with awarm friendly welcome by the owners. The room was very good and the bed very comfortable. The service is first class without being over the top. I enjoyed my evening meal and this was accompanied by a good bottle of wine from a good wine list. Nothing is too much trouble to the owners. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying the Glossop area, it has good views, is close to the town and for golfers is it at the side of a golf course and rounds can be arranged.

I was visiting on business in the area and a coworker selected this hotel because of its location. I was extremely pleased with both the room and the service. The owner was very attentive and the breakfast was great. The room was far better than I would've imagined and the bed was very comfortable. I would easily recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the general area. You will not be disappointed!

We brought a group of twelve friends together for a reunion dinner for the third time, and I think this was the best yet. As always we felt welcomed from the minute we arrived. The rooms are charming, the service unobtrusive and yet very attentive. I thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and breakfast; the cooking seems better than ever.

Hotel had a charming aspect, and a friendly welcome. Wild wood room offered spectacular views, and tastefully reflected the victorian origins of the hotel. Booked on a dinner, bed and breakfast rate, and found it reasonable value for money. Good wine list, and nice to relax in drawing room with a G&T prior to dinner in the quiet victorian dining room.

I discovered this gem in The Peak District about 10 years ago. It is the perfect place to stay for exploring this beautiful area of England. The rooms are extremely comfortable , the service unobstrusive and the food good , wholesome home cooked fare . I am looking forward to my next trip to Derbyshire , and after a tough days walking returning to the comfort and homely atmoshere of The Wind In The Willows.

I chose the hotel as it allowed us to stay outside of Manchester, in the countryside, but allowed rapid access to the city centre (for a conference I had to attend). The hotel looked reasonably presentable in the photos & previous reviews were favourable.

I must say that the photos & reviews do it no justice at all! It is a fantastic romantic hideaway, beautifully & classically styled, yet with all modern fixtures & fittings. It trumps mainstream hotels hands down!

Excellent personal service, spotlessly clean, the food was exceptional (by far the best hotel breakfast we have ever had), it was so quiet, the rooms were large & all details considered

We only wish we had found it sooner!
