Four of us were doing the Trans Pennine Trail on MTB in September and booked with Lynda at Bird's Nest Cottage and I am so glad that we did. They all hav every safe storage for bikes.
From the outset, Lynda was extremyl helpful with suggestions on restuarants and other things when I booked the 1 night stay. When we eventaully got to Bird's Nest Cottage (at 9pm in the pitch black) Lynda had obviously taken pity on us as we were all exhausted and when we got there, we walked in to tea and cake!!! (We also would not have not got there without her last minute directions.) Cake was most unexpected and was what we all needed to keep us going. Not only did book a taxi for the local Sri Lankan restuarant, she even made packed lunched the next day for our long journey.
A great welcome, great location and we would recommend ths B&B to anyone. Thankyou to Lynda and her husband.

The comments already expressed on TripAdvisor just about say it all. This really is an outstanding B&B I would add the following:
• Lynda, the co-proprietor,is a wonderful, warm, welcoming host. You are offered tea or coffee, as well as freshly baked muffins or cakes, shown your room, offered advice about parking, as well as information about where to eat and places to visit. She seems genuinely interested in her guests.
• Of the many places I have stayed over years, I have rarely seen a better presented breakfast; it could be the work of a top chef in a 5 star hotel. Over two mornings, the 'main courses' I had of scrambled egg, mushooms and tomato merited a photo, as did the pancake of poached berries, honey and yoghurt. Quite amazing.
• In the communal lounge, there is a very large selection of books, pamphlets and maps of places to visit and walks to do. You are invited to borrow these.
• All this for the most modest tariff.
Very highly recommended

Genuine hospitality with a perfect situation in the northern of England. A small house with lots of lovely rooms, a special archtectional garden. The breakfasts are delicious and the couple who runs it are very nice-enjoy!

Unfortunately only stayed for one night but will return hopefully. From the first telephone call to the last goodbye visiting was a pleasure. Much care has been taken to make visitors feel welcomed and valued and tea with cake on arrival was just the first pleasure. We were in a small ensuite twin which had everything we needed. I wished we could have taken more of the beautiful gardens in and relaxed in the Lounges. The recommendation for dinner was spot on and breakfast delicious and well presented. There is a wonderful homely feel and as a cottage, rooms are all individual. The Main Street which is around a 15 min walk has many eateries and would be nice to shop in during the day. I would not hesitate to recommend and look
Forward to visit 2

I stay for about 3 weeks in Glossop, alone. But I have to say that the advice from Linda about ,what things you can see and do in and around Glossop and Manchester, was fantastic. Even her sense to sympathize when someone needs a word to get homesick away, let gauests feel comfortable.
