“A charming and comfy cottage in a fantastic location!”
Reviewed July 11, 2016 for a stay in June 2016

The cottage was the perfect mix of character and comfort and the location was very central in the village. The property was clean and equipped with everything we needed for our stay. Highly recommended!

“Perfect holiday cottage in an idyllic setting”
Reviewed June 6, 2016 for a stay in May 2016

Such a warm and welcoming cottage in a quiet street in an often bustling town. The cottage had everything that you'd need for a holiday, a perfect little home from home. With shops, pubs, walks and tourist attractions right on the doorstep there was no need to travel far to keep the whole family entertained. Wonderful!

Castleton is a brilliant place for dogs. We didn't notice a pet had stayed! Thank you so much for leaving the cottage so tidy and clean. Much appreciated. Best wishes, Jane

“Beautiful cottage”
Reviewed April 12, 2016 for a stay in April 2016

I booked the break for my mum's 60th as she loves Castleton- couldn't believe our luck when walking into the cottage. It was lovely and comfortable for myself, my husband, mum and dad.
Really comfortable, homely and inviting. Will definitely be booking again in the future.

“A beautiful cottage in a beautiful area.”

We can't recommend this charming little place highly enough. The cottage was warm, clean and very well equipped. The owner has clearly put a great deal of thought into what people will need during their stay and made sure they get it, beginning with a welcome pack including tea and milk - very much appreciated after a long car journey.

The cottage itself is situated perfectly on a quiet road, near the centre of Castleton and has a private space reserved for a car to park immediately outside. The vast majority of the attractions that Castleton and the immediate area have to offer are within easy walking distance and has several pubs a mere stagger away. The view from Mam Tor is spectacular and well worth the climb (as long as you don't mind watching your girlfriend bound gazelle-like up the incline while you trail in her wake, wheezing and muttering curses about the universe in general and hills in particular). Peak Cavern and Treak Cliff Cavern are likewise to be recommended and have the advantage of not almost inducing a coronary event. Venturing slightly further afield, the Chestnut Otter and Owl Sanctuary is an easy fifteen minute drive away and a great way to spend the day, particularly around feeding time.

The traditional exposed beams and open fireplace make the cottage feel very welcoming and characterful. We enjoyed several nights lazing around in front of the fire. The view from the back of the cottage is stunning and in finer weather than April has to offer would be a beautiful backdrop for a meal in the garden.

Overall, a great place to stay and very much worth the rental fee.

“Ideal location”
Reviewed February 25, 2016 for a stay in February 2016

Booked this for a weekend with friends as we love Castleton. The cottage is very clean, well equipped and perfect location. If I had to put a negative I would say that the shower is not for tall people! Very good value.

Yes so true! The thing about 17th century cottages is that the ceilings are very low. We are thinking of pulling out the bath and just having a shower room but I also know that walkers like a soak after a long day out in the hills. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay though. Best wishes, Jane

“Lovely cottage in perfect location”
Reviewed February 12, 2016 for a stay in February 2016

The cottage was lovely and warm and cosy. It was kitted out with all that you needed and it was in such a great location with walking right from the door to plenty of places to eat and have a coffee or something stronger.
Would definitely stay again.
