Torside is a great place to stay for adults and young children. A very quiet cottage for a couple of adults. Very well equipped and spacious. Great fire place, had some brilliant fires. Lovely village with plenty of pubs and food places to visit and great for walking, everyone very friendly.

“Perfect character cottage in peak position beside Peak Cavern”
Reviewed April 21, 2016 for a stay in April 2016

This lovely old stone cottage is in the perfect position for exploring Castleton and the surrounding area. It is very peaceful in the evening, tucked in next to Peak Cavern and within easy walking distance of the many pubs, restaurants and jewellery shops. Very well equipped with everything a family needs including WiFi and a shed to lock up bikes etc. Nice welcome pack, luxurious towels and really comfortable beds. Parking outside for one car if you can squeeze down the narrow lane but we used the permit provided for residents for the Peak Cavern car park - just 2 minutes walk away. Lisa was very friendly and helpful. We hope stay there again soon.

Liked best: The character of the cottage, its location and beautifully kept.
Liked least: The sitting room was a bit cold, but would have warmed up well if we lit the fire and it was warm and cosy everywhere else.

Great location in a very beautiful area. The cottage was perfect for our family of 4. Everything was as advertised except I was not aware how cute Castleton was nor how great the cottage location was, as the last building in town on trail to a cavern.

“Perfect, cosy get away.”
Reviewed March 30, 2016 for a stay in March 2016

Lovely to arrive at such a cosy, clean cottage. Spent an enjoyable Easter weekend here. Lots to see and do. Great walks, several caves and views of Peveril Castle.
Thank you to the owners who were very friendly and welcoming.

Fantastic surroundings and a fantastic cottage to go home to. Very clean and kept well. Can't be negative about anything. Weather wasn't great but even that didn't make it bad.
Overall it was a fantastic weekend break and would definitely recommend.
Excellent communication as well with Lisa.

“Beautiful, immaculate cottage in a wonderful location”

We stayed in this cottage three nights this week, my youngest son who is three and my Mum and Dad who are in there sixties. We all loved this cottage, the owners were really friendly and so helpful. The cottage was immaculate and you could tell that a lot of thought had gone in to every aspect of the cottage from the decor,to the toys provided for children. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need. It is directly next to the Peak Cavern (literally a one minute walk) which was great and we loved walking by the stream down into the village of Castleton where there are lots of places to eat. My Mum has mobility issues so we weren't able to go on long walks something I would have loved to do if with my husband and two children but we still had a great time visiting local National Trusts sites and exploring local villages. Just a truly wonderful place.

“Excellent location, spotless house, accommodating owners”
Reviewed August 10, 2015 for a stay in August 2015

The property was well presented, with everything you need for a relaxing weekend, including lots of puzzles and books for young kids. The owners were very accommodating despite me arriving much later than planned. Upon arrival we were greeted with a basket of fresh bread, wine, crisps and chocolates, plus milk, orange juice and butter in the fridge. The location is fantastic, nestled in among old stone houses, with a little stream trickling by, ducks, and a short walk to a great selection of great pubs and restaurants. A very relaxing place to stay.
