We have visited the Nag's Head 2 0r 3 times for drinks and meals. Each time we were made to feel very welcome. We nearly always take our dog with us and he was also made very welcome. The meals we had there were lovely. Value for money and served with a smile. I look forward to our next visit.

My girlfriend & i stayed at Ye old Nags Head on the 12th & 13th of June.
When we arrived we were upgraded to the Ladybower room, it was spotlessly clean & had all the trapping's of a major hotel , i.e, complimentary tea, coffee, biscuit's & a small bottle of wine, hair dryer, flat screen tv with freeview ,we had a four poster bed which was very comfortable & extremely clean, the room was just the right size & the bathroom was spacious with a great shower, bath, seperate twin wash basin's & complientary shampoo's & soap's & the towel's were clean & plentiful.
The bar area & restraunt , were very well presented, clean , well furnished with extensive , range of beer's & wine's & spirit's the menu's for snack's & starter's, main courses & dessert's, the food was delicious & breakfast was sumptuous & well worth a visit on it's own.
The Hotel is perfectly situated with ample car parking & perfect for short or long walk's which are litterally a stone's throw away.
The staff were brilliant & nothing was to much trouble for them.
Both my girlfriend & i were very impressed with Ye Old Nags Head & we will return soon with friend's in tow.
With hand on heart , i can honestly say, pay them a visit, you will not be disappointed, fantastic place, fantastic price & fantastic room's & service, it was a real pleasure & i'd like to thank the owners & staff for a brilliant two day stay.

Regards,

Mark & Diana.

Room Tip: all room's are good, we booked The Howden but were upgraded to The Ladybower at checkin.

Stayed here for 1 night recently in one of the 4 poster double rooms.
It was a bit like Grandma's house complete with 1970's fittings. The bed had the most uncomfortable matress we had ever slept on and althought the towels and linen were spotless the rest of the room and bathroom needed a deep clean, especially the carpets. Also the toilet needed a good bleach and clean as it was very stained.
breakfast quality and quantity was outstanding and the downstairs breakfast room and pub were very nice.
As regards to customer service we had no complaints altough on checking out we were basically just a room and not treated as individuals .What is wrong with a polite "thank you and did you enjoy your stay?"
If returning to Castleton in the future ,which is likely I would wait for the planned refurbishment to be completed or maybe try one of the other options available in the village.

We stayed for one night in this lovely 17th century coaching house in the centre of the lovely village of Castleton in Derbyshire. We stayed in the Derwent room which is on the first floor, room was lovely and very medieval looking with a gorgeous four poster bed that was very comfortable, the room had a wardrobe, bedside tables with lamps, vanity unit and table with hospitality tray which had tea, coffee, hot chocolate, biscuits, two bottles of water and a little bottle of red wine which I thought was a really nice touch. There was also a fat screen tv and a radio alarm. The bathroom was spacious with bath and shower and great little toiletries. Breakfast was excellent with a choice if fruit juice and cereals and then whatever breakfast you wanted, we had full English which was excellent, the hotel also has a nice bar and they do meals up to 9pm, although we did not eat in the restaurant the menu looked very good, the hotel also has a car park just across the road. This hotel is excellent value for money and a really lovely place to stay

Room Tip: There is a room above the bar which I presume could be noisy, our room overlooked the grave yard which may put some people off but I just thought it added to the ambiance of the hotel

Just spent a three day break here with my fiance for his birthday, had a lovely time. Ye Olde Nags Head is a lovely hotel and our room was very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was A1 and plenty of it. Staff were attentive and helpful. We would highly recommend this hotel.
