After having a walk around Castleton we nipped into this lovely little cafe to receive a very warm and friendly welcome. We ordered a Pot of tea and a Cappuccino which both arrived nice a quickly, we also ordered a couple of Ciabbatta Sandwiches which were excellent, the prices seem to be very reasonable for a tourist spot like Castleton. As we only live some 45 minutes away we will be back to try some more of the menu and the cakes that look wonderful.

Tea cups dirty, the bacon was as hard as nails, beans were cold, portion size was selfishly small for the price -approx £6.75.

Sorry Three Roofs but i won't be coming back in a hurry.

It certainly is a lovely spot, and there's no lack of choice for tea shops in Castleton so the fact that this one was so busy speaks for itself. The menu is good, wide range of choices. I wish we'd have been in time for breakfast as the choices there looked good too. We ordered a variety of items and all was fine, albeit a bit pricey and I think the kids sandwich tea could have included a drink for the money. My order was a cream tea with 2 scones which were really tiny when they arrived, but the staff changed it for one larger (& cheaper!) without complaint. All in all it was fine but a bit pricey. I suppose you'd expect that in such a tourist spot though.

Thankyou for your review I'm pleased you enjoyed your visit to the three roofs cafe.. Since reading your review I can honestly say drinks are included with our children's sandwich and our menu is visible outside the cafe at the front door so people can read beforehand. All our prices are reasonable and in keeping with all other establishments in the local area. We have many promotions and specials available at the three roofs cafe so please look out for our special deals. Such deals are available via our website, twitter or Facebook page.

I went to this cafe after a long hike over the hills with my friend. After waiting for over 20 minutes to have our order taken, despite me getting the waitresses attention and having three tables orders taken before ours, our food still took another 20 minutes to come out. We had only ordered cream teas! The tea was nice however the scones were small and the cream and jam both came from very small packets. Disappointing.

I'm sorry you felt disappointed with your visit. The three roofs cafe is a very busy cafe. The scones are baked fresh daily and since you wrote the review changes have been made not only on the front of house but also in the kitchen. We hope you will visit again soon. You only have to read our other reviews from our sister coffee shop "the causeway shop" as well as the three roofs cafe that can testify my sentiments. Come and see for yourself. Many thanks Lee
