“A true faulty towers”

I have stayed here a number of times for business when my normal hotel is full etc. This time the room I have been given is really musty so have all windows open to get rid if the smell. The loo seat is actually falling off as two of the hinges are no attached to the loo.

The food at the hotel is really nice, apart from breakfast yet overall it is not a good hotel and there are better hotels to stay at near East Midlands airport

We booked two rooms at the hotel for one night paying the same amount for both rooms. There was a vast difference in the rooms one had a four poster, hairdryer, trouser press and a large bathroom the other did'nt it was missing a remote control for the tv and they boast about 24 hr room service but nothing to order from in one room. Was quite dissappointed and proberly won't stay again.

My husband and I stayed here for our wedding night in June 2013. We had spent a lot of time looking around for somewhere nice to spend our night coming from our own wedding nearby that night.
We had left one of our cars and our suitcases with the hotel before hand and we arrived around midnight, having prearranged everything, or so we thought.
We arrived feeling pretty exhausted after an amazing but very long day. We then spent over 20 minutes at reception, surrounded by drunk people from an ongoing wedding at the venue, whilst they struggled to find our car key which we had left there which meant we couldn't get our cases.
Eventually they found it and my husband retrieved our cases and we went to our room. Despite the hotel being aware, there was no acknowledgement even that it was our wedding night however we ordered some champagne which arrived soon after.
The room was very pleasant and spacious. The only complaint being that I stepped into the shower and turned on the tap to find that the water was scalding. It was so much so that I still have a mark to this day nearly 2 months on.
We slept well and breakfast was brought to our room which was excellent.
Overall the location is good - close to the airport and other amenities but don't book it for a special occasion as you really are just "another booking" and it really did just feel average.

We stayed at this hotel on the night of Friday 19th July after spending a day walking up in the Peak District. We stayed in room 15 which we paid an upgrade for the room itself was large and spotlessly clean and had a small outside patio area which was a bonus in the hot weather. We booked a table for dinner and sat in the window in a lovely room which was very tastefully decorated. The Waitress was very helpful and the food was exceptional. My husband had the Sirloin steak and I had the Lamb and it really was faultless. Breakfast in the morning was cooked to order and again faultless. The staff at this hotel were very helpful and when we requested a hairdryer because the one in our room had been taken it was brought to our room in minutes.
My husband and I really enjoyed our stay here overall there is room for improvement with the decoration and there area areas that could do with abit of TLC but it was value for money and the food was superb.

Room Tip: Room 15 had a very small terrace on the ground floor and was quiet.

Excellent meal in their restaurant, great breakfast selection including the trusty full English & a very spacious room if a little old on the decor which is in keeping with the building, friendly helpful staff who make your stay very comfortable.

Room Tip: Room 21 is spacious & you do not hear any noise from functions downstairs.

I chose the hotel as it was convenient for where we had been during the day and we got a good offer. I admit we had to up grade to a superior room as there were no standard rooms left but we were more than happy with room 10 [even with the scary bathroom suite]
The staff were lovely and very helpful. I can not fault the food( for a similar priced meal I would say the evening meal was one of the best I have ever had. The haddock and poached egg for breakfast was lovely too) I hope they pay their chef well so doesn't move on. It was well positioned for walking around the village and I'm sure the beautiful sunny evening and morning more than helped with the experience. Yes there were some issues with decor but it didn't detract from our enjoyment.

We were originally supposed to stop here as we booked out rooms 9 months ago for a wedding we were attending. For some reason there was a mess up with our rooms and we had to stop in a hotel near by (see next review). The meal was lovely and the day seemed to run on time the service was good. At the night doo considering it was a wedding there was only 1 member of staff on the bar which wasnt great, also there was a very bad stench of sewage coming from the hotels car park. It ruined the atmosphere slightly. The traffic was also quite noisy at all hours. All in all i am glad we were moved to another hotel. The manor is a nice venue but probably wouldn't go to stay.
