We went on a quiet weekday evening with only a few other diners there, so my initial concern was that the atmosphere may feel uncomfortable, however this proved not to be true. The ambience in the dining room was relaxed and welcoming, the furnishings a nice combination of traditional and modern and the atmosphere cosy, with candles in the windows and on the hearth. Everything seemed to operate in exactly the same way as I would expect when the restaurant area was full and I did not feel that any corners were cut for cost savings. The food was of an excellent quality and beautifully presented and the service was professional, efficient and friendly without being intrusive. The food is cooked to order and we appreciated the complimentary nibbles we were served while we waited. In all we had a lovely evening and would definitely return next time we fly from East Midlands. If we lived locally I'm sure we would be regulars. The Nags Head is only about a mile from the airport and really easy to find - just take the road that runs parallel with the runway towards Castle Donnington and take the first turning right.

We would like to pass on our experience of our anniversary lunch on the 20th Oct 12.
Bar staff gave us good service, The restaurant staff provided the courses very promptly and the food for 23 people was excellent.

Five of us went for lunch last Saturday. Three locals, one from America and one from Vienna. We chose the Nags Head because it serves delicious food, is warm and welcoming with friendly staff and it's local.

Although the menu has a Mediterranean/Italian bias there is something for everyone and at lunchtime they just add a lunchtime menu to the evening one. Our choices ranged from spaghetti, fish and chips, steak and chips to jacket potato with chicken strips, all freshly cooked, generous portions and delicious. We couldn't manage desserts, but I know from a previous visit that they are equally as good.

Lovely atmosphere, bistro style decor and if the weather's nice you can eat outside.
Glad we live nearby - we'll be going back.

Looks like a nice old fashioned pub from the outside but step inside and wow . Really eclectic mix of decor , shabby chic mixed with the Mediterranean . Nice warm welcome and great service ... Great Mediterranean menu , some thing for everyone . Love that you can see into the kitchen and watch the chefs at work . Will defiantly be returning soon.

Myself and my family visited The Nags Head on Friday 28th September and we had a fantastic experience. Our food was beatiful, very well presented and great portions and James who was working on that evening was a great help with everyting. John and Claudia know how to run a fantastic business with goods honest food with an Italian twist!!! I know what the food industry can be like and you dont need small minded people making comments on website like this......if you have a problem with your food, service or staff then say so there and then. Well done to you all at The Nags Head...keep it up and enjoy!!!
