We went on a quiet weekday evening with only a few other diners there, so my initial concern was that the atmosphere may feel uncomfortable, however this proved not to be true. The ambience in the dining room was relaxed and welcoming, the furnishings a nice combination of traditional and modern and the atmosphere cosy, with candles in the windows and on the hearth. Everything seemed to operate in exactly the same way as I would expect when the restaurant area was full and I did not feel that any corners were cut for cost savings. The food was of an excellent quality and beautifully presented and the service was professional, efficient and friendly without being intrusive. The food is cooked to order and we appreciated the complimentary nibbles we were served while we waited. In all we had a lovely evening and would definitely return next time we fly from East Midlands. If we lived locally I'm sure we would be regulars. The Nags Head is only about a mile from the airport and really easy to find - just take the road that runs parallel with the runway towards Castle Donnington and take the first turning right.
