We went for an overnight stay with friends to just relax and unwind. On arrival, ample parking was available, even thoguh this being a park and fly hotel for the airport. Check in was excellent, the receptionist was friendly and helpful. As both couples were gold/diamond members, we both got room upgrades, and a complientary bottle of wine + chocolates and water was a nice touch. The room we had was a good size and clean with a very comfortable Kingsize bed. Bathroom was ok, though the shower was not particularly powerful. We found our room was too hot at night even with air con on full.

We made use of the living well club facilities - these were well maintained, and the swimming pool area was clean and fresh. Nice sauna/steam room.

We had dinner in the restaurant as there was a special offer for 3 courses - good value. The bar prices were not bad for a Hilton, though we took full advantage of the happy hour!

The bar and seating areas are clean and welcoming, and staff were very friendly and attentive to our needs.

The Hilton breakfast was excellent, and checkout was easy and painless. All in all, a good experience with the Hilton hotel chain.

We booked a family rom with car parking for 7 days for ourselves and my daughter ahead of a holiday flying from East Mids. Check in was excellent, the receptionist was friendly and helpful. The room was a good size and clean with a double bed and sofa bed. Both were fine, comfort-wise, although the room was too hot even with air con on full. We had dinner in the restaurant because there was a special offer of £12 pp for 3 courses - well worth it. The menu was extensive and the food was nice (not fabulous, but nice)/. Check out was also easy and on return from our holiday it was a piece of cake to get back from the airport and collect the car.

We'd definitely do this again, the package was value for money and everything was very easy.

We booked into the Hilton as we are Hilton Honours members and have stayed at this hotel as a couple approx 4 years ago and had no problems.
We stayed the night before we took a flight from East Midlands Airport and took advantage of the stay one night and get 8 nights free parking.
We booked a family room which consisted of a double bed, a small sofa bed and single put up bed.
The double bed was hard but ok, the sofa bed had a metal bar runnning the width right where your hip lays and the single put up bed was the thickness of door mat! I ended up on the sofa bed as i was able to sleep between the metal bars & my son is taller than me , My daughter gave up with the door mat! and spent the night on the floor which was less lumpy!. Needless to say we all had the worst night sleep ever. The meal in the resturant was fair, not overpriced but nothing special menu was limited.
We did speak to the manager the following morning to complain about the restless night, he offered to take the price of two drinks from our bill ! which i think is a bit of an insult as we would have prefered to pay a little more and have had a comfortable start to our holiday. I shall not be returning

I don't understand the rates being quoted here, because for a double room we were charged £46 for one night; we turned down the Thistle as they were asking £85, even though we found a figure of £65 on a website previously in the day, but couldn't get internet access later when we decided where we wanted to go.

We arrived lateish (after 10pm), check-in was easy, and the room was absolutely fine. For some reason there were a couple of spare beds in there, but that was no problem. We had paid £60 at a b & b the previous night, and we were more comfortable at the Hilton.

I questioned why there was no mini-bar and they said that they had been unpopular and over-priced (their words!).

I had a night cap at the bar and chatted to the very friendly Polish barman, his female manager was a bit surly, but it was getting late by then!

No shuttle, but we reception booked a taxi for us.

All in all, I think this was a cracking deal.
