Had a very enjoyable time........until we checked out and returned to our car which had been broken into during the night, then to find that several other cars been done aswel. we contacted the manager who came to look at the damage and take an itinerary of what was stolen and gave us the comforting words of "well atleast you still have your tyers, as another car was left just on bricks a few weeks ago". He just didn't seem very interested in what was going on, and proceded to tell us that there are no security camera's facing certain areas of the car park.
So unless you are traveling by taxi and do not have to leave your vehicle in the car park, it could possibly be a nice stay. But i know i will never be returning to this hotel.

Arranged to meet a friend for lunch. Half-way point on the day Airport Hilton at Junction 24 of M1 and on A50.

1/4 hr free in car park. 1/4 hr - 3 hrs £3.00, only re-funded if resident in the hotel anfd not for people lunching, so no voiding of charges against money spent. two cars £6.00 for the simple pleasure of spending even more.

We did not stay to eat; shall tell everyone we know; will never meet there again, not only because of the charges but also the complete lack of interest in querying these charges at reception.

In these recessionary days one looks for better value and there are many outlets willing to provide it.

My partner and I were returning to East Midlands Airport from a short stay in Prague and as the flight was not scheduled to arrive till 22.55 and as it usually takes approx . 30 minutes to get away from the airport we decided to book the night at the Hilton East Midlands. It just also happened to be my partners birthday on the next day and so that she could have a nice lazy morning and have room service for her breakfast . This was booked 17 weeks prior to the visit on the hotels '' frequent flyer '' scheme, and I contacted the hotel 2 weeks prrior to our visit to re confirm the booking, order champagne for the room and to notify the hotel of our expected time of arrival and also the flight number so that they could check exact time of arrival etc. The member of staff on duty confirmed everthing and I was reassured that everything was in order. Our flight was about 20 mintes late, and we arrived at the hotel at approx 00.15, It was pouring with rain and we were cold, tired and hungry and looking to a nice room tio settle down and relax in. Imagine our horror when we were told at reception that they had some bad news and that our room had been double booked as they had taken a large conference booking. We were offered an alternative at their sister hotel 15 minutes down the road in Leicester. We flatly turned this down as a) we live 70 miles to the west, b) it would have meant leaving at arround 07.30 to beat the traffic for my partner to get to a meeting in Stoke at 11, c) the motor way was closed southbound over night for resurfacing and would have meant a long detour. Eventually they found us a hotel in Stoke which we finally arrived at 02.30. The night manager was understanding but no one could explain why this had happened and it totally ruined my partners birthday. Consequently I would never stay at a Hilton Hotel.

Although this is described as an Airport Hotel, apparently they can only arrange a transfer to the airport if you are leaving your car at the hotel! As we are fortunate enough to be going away for a month, some friends are taking us to the airport - "book your own transfers - tough" they said.

So we've booked to stay at the Thistle instead who couldn't have been more helpful.

We booked this hotel on sale- fifty pounds per night and I would not have paid a penny more. The hotel is OLD with sticky tape holding the carpet in the bar to the floor, dirty walls, etc. The rooms are worn, although were clean. I would only recommend this hotel if like us, you are booked on a very early flight from East Midlands in the morning. The hotel food looked terrible so we chose to drive to the nearby services and purchase food from the Marks and Spencer food hall there. Note that you need to drive to the airport too- although the name suggests the hotel is close to the airport- you stll need to drive to the airport. There are actually hotels on the site of the airport so if this is your motivation for staying at the hotel, do not book this- there are others that ARE actually on the airport grounds within walking distance to the terminal.

My wife and I stayed in The Hilton for an overnight stop and parking for our recent holiday to Zakynthos. We found the Hotel ideal being only a few minutes drive away from the Airport. Check in was very efficient and the Club Room allocated very spacious, modern and clean. We booked a table for dinner and were pleasantly surprised at both the bottle of complimentary wine and the price of the food in the Restaurant as we had earlier bought some drinks in the Bar and found them to be exorbitant. Waiter service received from Paul was entertaining and the food was very good.We had a peaceful nights sleep and the Airport transfer was without a hitch. This was a good start to our holiday. On returning we encountered problems with the transfer back to the Hotel. There were 4 of us waiting for the transfer,to be told by 2 seperate drivers that we had " a lot of cases".Our reply that 2 cases per couple for a foreign holiday wasn't excessive was met with general tutting and shrugging of shoulders. This however wasn't the Hotels fault. We were eventually driven back by a nice guy in a people carrier.
We would definitely stay at this Hotel again if flying from East Midlands.

Stayed at this hotel with my wife for a night in july.

It was much grander than we thought it would be. Rooms are huge (we stayed in a club room), although if your not a fan of soft pillows you may struggle to sleep. Bathrooms are lovely with everything at a good hight and nice powerful shower.

Shop around for the best deal, we booked via hotel website for deals as rooms are expensive if you cold call. Also be aware drinks and food are very expensive, £17 for chicken tikka massla, £4 for bottled lager.

Overall good experience.
