A group of us visited recently. The food was very good, the atmosphere was lovely and the staff were friendly and welcoming. The specials menu was excellent value. An enjoyable experience.

“Excellent Restaurant and great value”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 31, 2013

Visited the restaurant for the first time 31/10/13 and great first impressions of the lay out and excellent decor. The two waiters were very helpful and friendly and provided great service. The owner also took time out to speak to you and made you feel very welcome. Presentation and food was absolutely wonderful full marks to the chef. The two course meal deal was great value for money. Most definitely will visit and recommend to other family and friends. Superb thanks.

“Excellent night, lovely food, superb service, definitely value for money”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 31, 2013

Went to graze on a busy Saturday night with four of my friends and had a fabulous night.

The meal was divine and beautifully presented! Infact we couldn't believe how cheap it was for what we got, will definitely be returning and will definately be telling others about our experience.

The whole restaurant has great atmosphere and we loved the interior!!!!

Just what belper needed!

“Graze - What are you playing at???!!!”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 30, 2013

I visited Graze last night (29/10/13) for the third time since it opened a few months ago in Belper. Previous experiences - excellent. Hence the reason I returned.

Previously the 'two courses for £9.95' was great value and the food was lovely. However, all I can say about last night is 'bitter disappointment'.

The menu has changed considerably. This was their new 'winter' menu. The 'two courses for £9.95' is now two courses for £11.95!!!! What???!!!! Are Graze getting like the energy companies and just getting greedy and ripping off customers? It would appear so! Bad move!

What they now have is a menu for £9.95 which consists of a choice or 3 starters (soup, garlic pizza bread or olives) and a choice of pizza's. If you want pudding instead of a starter, you have to choose the two for £11.95 menu now.

I looked at the £11.95 menu - you can still choose either a starter and main or main and pudding, but obviously now it's going to cost you £2.00 more. I'm a vegetarian and gone were the excellent choices that used to be on the £9.95 menu. There was one choice only - homity pie. When the waiter eventually came to take our order he informed us that there was no homity pie available and that it had been replaced by game pie!!!! (Make sense of that if you can???!!!) So basically, if you are vegetarian, the two courses for £11.95 menu is not an option for you.

So I chose the two courses for £9.95, chose the soup and a pizza. The soup - whilst lovely, barely covered the bottom of the dish. Talk about miserly amount! I exaggerate not - 3 or 4 spoonfuls and it was gone. It was served with 2 small pieces of bread and no butter. The pizza's on their own are £5.95 or there abouts - no way was this soup worth £4.00!!! The pizza, as usual, was excellent. But the 'new' £9.95 menu is just not value for money anymore.

There then followed some instances with the waiting staff - one didn't know whether they had any parmesan or not and another went looking for a soup spoon that apparently they didn't have. And never have had.

At the end of the meal, the bill came and we had been over charged by £10.00!!! ARGH!!!! The waiter then explained some very complicated way of how the till adds up what you have ordered, in our case, the till had added it up very wrongly! A second bill arrived. This too was incorrect. FOR GOODNESS SAKE!!! We had been charged for a second soup we didn't order! It didn't take too much to add up 2 lots of £9.95 and 2 drinks! We paid the money owing precisely and didn't leave a tip. Whilst the waiting staff were apologetic, I really don't expect to get TWO incorrect bills.

Come on Graze, what on earth are you playing at???!!! You have been in Belper a few months and I and others having been raving about you - BUT a huge let down now. What are you trying to achieve???

You have clearly got greedy by hiking up the price of the original 'two for £9.95' menu. Is this the best way or treating loyal customers??? I think not! I feel duped!!! All you will do is alienate people. Very bad business decision on your part!!! If you are going to massively change the £9.95 menu (now choice of 3 starters and pizza's) then at least have the decency to offer a good portion size. As it is, now poor value for money.

And do please - get your billing correct - it added insult to injury and it's not rocket science!

Bitter disappointment of something which was so good turn so bad in the space of a couple of weeks - I don't think I will be returning. Poor, poor, poor!!!!

Please listen to your customers, have less greed, we are sick of it - and give us back what was good and good value!!!

“A Superb night out.....”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 29, 2013

As a table of four on a busy Friday we had a great time, no rush, great food, great service from Jake, who actually engaged with the table.
Then the bill came....and it was £50 less than what we expected!
I don't think there is any competition in the area - simply superb.
