We had planned a weekend away centred around a nearby hotel and walks nearby and had chosen this pub to eat at because of its heritage and good write ups, so we were disappointed to find that the "kitchen was closed due to holidays", I understand everyone has holidays but if they had published this on their website, we would have made other plans and come another time. The meagre options still available - cobs made earlier in the day and woeful ploughmans for £5 few bits of cheese & crackers and a dollop of pickle did not make up for it. Nice fires though.
