“Great walks”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 22, 2013

Had a lovely walk around this area. You could spend a day walking around the reservoir. Also a few pubs to 'get a boost'. You can park for free in certain places to avoid the pay and display traps.

“Escapism at its best”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 12, 2013

Beautiful views and surroundings,no traffic, plenty of walks offered......bliss!. We only called for the afternoon, but big you want to start from the top of the dam and walk back (5 miles) then you can take the buss from the car park to "Kings tree" and walk back on the track which you only have to share with cyclist's...no cars!!

“Great walking area”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 11, 2013

Visited once again walked round ladybower reservoir and saw less than 10 people so peaceful, views amazing. Weather a bit damp and a week day which is probably why it was a bit quiet. Will do it again.

“Trout fishing on Ladybower”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 8, 2013 via mobile

Had a great day at Ladybower. Hired tackle and boat and set off up the Derwent arm of the reservoir. Found some shelter from the wind which was whipping the water into pretty big waves worthy of the Thames estuary where I normally fish. The trout were not interested so tried the other side of the reservoir and caught a very lively "blue" trout which is a rare strain of rainbow and only occur one in a million hatchlings! The management were surprised at what I had caught but were able to identify it.
The scenery is fantastic. I will try to add some photos but I'm not impressed with this iPad app so we'll see.
The boat, half days ticket and the tackle hire came to £35 which isn't bad at all for over 5 hours fun!

“A great days walk”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 8, 2013

Park your car in Fairholms Car Park (pay and display £4.70 all day) and walk up along the Derwent Edges. Wonderful views of the reservoirs and the Great Ridge. Real peace and quiet on a weekday, just the sound of Grouse and Meadow Pipits. Really worth the effort of climb
