Description: The Rose and Crown is a friendly village inn where we pride ourselves on serving restaurant food at realistic prices. Our menu changes frequently with a focus on freshness, flavours and quality seasonal fare. These can be accompanied by our varied selection of New and Old World wines or our traditional ales.

We were a group of 10 on a busy Sunday lunch time. Range of ages from 2- 50+ and as always in family group there was a range of tastes, but we were all agreed plenty of choice, fantastic food and lovely service. Staff came to let us know there would be a delay but the food was worth the short wait.
It is child friendly, no childrens menu but they are happy to split a meal and the staff are so friendly and helpful that it wasn't a problem to change the dish slightly so both boys were happy.
We will visit again and can recommend to anyone looking for great food at reasonable price served by friendly, welcoming staff.

We have eaten here twice in the last month and have been more than happy with the quality of food and service. The chef is very personable and is keen to mingle with customers and ask if his food has been enjoyable. We have taken our 7yr old along on both our visits and although there is no children's menu as such, the chef is more than happy to prepare a simple meal such as chicken or sausages. Prices are reasonable compared with other pubs in the area that offer standard "pub fayre" however this is far better food for similar money. We shall certainly be returning and would recommend to anyone visiting Ashbourne.

We have eaten here several times. The food is of an extremely high standard, yet priced reasonably. Portion sizes are decent rather than pretentious. The atmosphere is good and there have always been tables available.

I have been lucky enough to experience the best steak sandwich lunch I have ever had, as well as gormet evening meals and delicious ly high-quality Sunday roasts.

Great night last night for a walking group og 60 people. We were put at tables of 8. I had the venison pie which I can recomend to anyone, well except a veggie, as my wife is but she had the stuffed mushrooms which she really enjoyed. All the meals came out appropriatley hot (very) or cold. All in all a very nice evening. I have read some of the other reviews, but in all honesty found the staff to be friendly and welcoming.

We came to Danny's lovely restaurant for our Wedding Breakfast after researching the area and venues through Tripadvisor. What a fab choice we made! We cannot praise highly enough the quality of the food and the service here.

Our group consisted of 14 adults and 3 small children. We were all made very welcome and everybody's tastes were catered for. We were even fortunate enough to have our own corner of the restaurant, where we felt both included but had our privacy too.

We found all the staff very friendly and they looked after us brilliantly. Everyone found the food (all 3 courses) delicious and it was served perfectly, with each table getting their food at the same time.

It was all faultless from our point of view from the lovely canapes to the fab desserts. It was terrific value too.

Thank you Danny and your team xx
