An excellent place for coffee or a light lunch. Only let down is the noise as there is nothing to soak the noise up eg soft furnishings. The deli is good too especially the stilton cheeses.

First class for a bacon and egg sandwich and a coffee on a Saturday morning. The deli next door is great too for artisan breads and special cheeses.

As far as the Cafe is concerned, service is good, staff are friendly and attentive, the food is good and reasonably priced. good place to read your Saturday newspaper and enjoy a good cooked breakfast.

wow what a lovely place. Staff work hard and are aware of customers needs. I had the fishcake, which although is expensive at £7 just for ONE with some salad, the homemade tartar is delicious (and I don't like a lot of the salad ingredients eg radish, celery, peppers- so couldn't enjoy it) so £7 is pricey for what I got although the fishcake was delicious.|(nice to have a smart salad offered for a change) physiologically 2 thinner fishcakes instead of one thick one maybe an idea for the chef to consider..? My hubby had the ham hock terrine which was delicious!.(perfect portion size).. he thoroughly enjoyed his piccalilli. we seemed to be eating for ages....I saw the array of delicious cakes so had to try the choc pecan.. my only comment about this is the pastry is the wrong base.I feel it should be a biscuit base. (the pastry wasn't cooked and didn't add anything to the flavour or texture) its also a shame they didnt have any clotted cream. All in all we would defo return to try the other food available and praise the staff for being pleasant and thorough and smart. after a tip £20 for 2 for a light lunch is expensive but when the quality is there then i don't mind paying.

Popular cafe offering tempting choices on the menu. Serves beer and wine too, and there is a great deli attached to the cafe.
I was impressed to see Gents toilet has been decorated since my last visit.
