Myself and my 3 teenage boys stayed here on our way home from Scotland to break the journey. It was 10 miles from the motorway and just perfect. a warm welcome was waiting and the rooms were well equipped and warm and cosy.
I would definitely stay again though for longer. The breakfast was great, filling and all local produce.

We stayed here for two nights and had an amazing time. We stayed in a cabin complete with a log burner and it was lovely. Very romantic and perfect for a couples weekend away but would also make a fun alternative to camping for families.

Close to a local village that offers a shop with everything you could need and an amazing tea room. Also close to a bigger town with supermarket.

30-45 minutes to get into the central lakes so a Great location.

We highly recommend.

On arrival you are greeted by your hosts, Janet & John. and made very welcome, the rooms are modern, spacious and clean.
The toilet and shower area, are very modern, and sparkling clean.
There is tea and coffee making facilities, along with delicious home made biscuits, fresh milk is put in your room on a daily basis if asked for.

The hearty breakfast, is one of the best I have ever tasted, along with fresh coffee & various juices, plus toast of course. [ everything is freshly cooked ] it sets you up for the day.

At night, it is tranquil and very peaceful, and the beds are comfortable.

If your single, or a family, you will not be disappointed.

Stayed in Woodpecker cottage adjoined to Farm Buildings. Really homely and comforting. John and Janet were excellent 'arms length' hosts.
Breakfast really good. Never met such hard working friendly people.
Highly recommended. We return soon.

We stayed for 5 nights on the campsite over the Bank Holiday weekend. We recieved a very warm welcome and found both Janet and John relaxed, friendly and helpful. As all the other reviews state the showeroom and toilet block was luxurious and SPOTLESS. There are only 2 toilets and 2 showers which was a very slight issue when the site was completely full, however a short wait looking at the spectacular views,to get into the shower ;which was second to none , is a price worth paying! The farm also offers free wifi - although at the time of our visit it wasn't working- however John invited us into his home to use his private network. As other reviewers have said the hosts just can't do enough for you. It is SUPERB value for money at £14 a night for big tent with electric hook up and water right by your tent. The site also has washing up facilities with sinks and draining boards. The site also has 3 brand new cabins situated in the camping field - on crossover day we peeped through the windows! and they looked beautifully decorated and very well rresourced, one to try on our next visit! The farm is well located for touring both Scotland ( we had a day trip taking in Lockerbie and Gretna Green), the Lake District and the National Park. There are some lovely pubs in the area, although the only downside is they are not in walking distance, although clearly that's not Janet and John's fault!
The site is very family and pet friendly and maye a bank holiday weekend wasn't the right time for a couple on their own to visit as we did find it loud. This comment ,is howeever not meant to be critical of the site. We would certainly return again and highly reccmmend it.

We stayed at Wallace Lane Farm at their excellent caravan site in Aug 13. The site is the cleanest I've stayed at and is obviously incredibly well looked after - the showers were spotless even on Bank Holiday weekend when the site was full. If I had any gripe it would be that the water tap for my pitch was too far away from the hard standing for me to use my mains hook up kit - I'd have needed a 15 metre hose. Having said that I shouldn't be so lazy. Overall a lovely stay - ill be back to stay again but next time in one of their lovely cabins!
