Stayed here prior to the first day of riding the C2C from Whitehaven to Tynemouth.
Overall thought this was a very decent B&B- up there with the best I have stayed at. The house itself is rather impressive- especially the staircases and interior decoration/ wallpaper. It's quite old-fashioned looking but well kept. The back garden is huge and sees lots of bird visitrs in the morning, which is quite interesting to watch.
Our room was a large triple room-plenty of space, decent beds, well-appointed, fairly modern bathroom. No complaints here. Breakfast (a full english) was fine. Bike storage is in a secure garage, and it seems like there's a good chance you'll be sharing with a few fellow C2C-ers.
The B&B is up a bit of a hill from the town centre (about 15-20 mins walk) but if you're here on a cycling or walking trip and you're struggliong with this hill, you're doing the wrong trip!
Pricing is competetive with other B&Bs in the area, and Liz & Peter , the owners, are lovely. Overall, Glenard seems a good bet if you're looking for somewhere to stay in Whitehaven.
