One of our friends considers that to sit outside this pub with a pint of Cider on a fine Market Day, (with the band playing) is as near to Heaven as this earth affords; but they also do excellent food. Slightly less 'pubby' than sister restaurant "The Rose & Crown.

My wife and I visit this establishment on a regular basis. The menu is fairly good for a local pub. The food is of a very good quality and good value for money. There is always a good selection of real ales, and a good selection of quality wines. There are also several cottages around the town which can be rented from this pub. Well worth a visit.

We arrived just before 5 and hadnt booked - the staff were really friendly and explained service would start at 5 and showed us to a table and gave us menu's.

We both opted for the two course roast dinner. I had beef and my partner turkey. It comes with roast potato's, mash potato, yorkshire pudding and veg.

The meat was lovely as was the gravy although there wasn't much of it, the mash was nice and the veg ok.....lots of very big lumps of carrot in the carrot mash - one of which was raw in the middle.

The roast potatoes, though lovely and crispy were dry in the middle.

The yorkshire pudding was awful. VERY burnt and i don't know how any chef would have allowed them to leave the kitchen. We couldn't eat them. We did mention this to the waitress when she asked if everything was ok but no-one came back to us.

The puddings were ok but small portions on extremely large plates for some reason.

Would not go back for a roast dinner - i have had far better elsewhere.

We were at a local event and the Farmers Arms was recommended for a snack and a drink. How lucky we were. A warm welcome, well cooked chicken and chips in a basket for only £4.95. A great selection of beers and ciders. All in authentic pleasant and cosy premises. After being recommended to us,we recommend The Farmers Arms to you!
