“Great place to eat and nice friendly staff”
Reviewed February 24, 2014

I live locally and Mae's is top of my list for lunch any time and dinner Thurs-Sat. The staff are always helpful and willing to lay on whatever you want. I had a business coffee there the other day and they were even happy to open early if it helped me. Food is all home cooked and reasonably priced. Fire is roaring in the winter and love going there during the day. Worth looking out for the events as they are good fun too. Would recommend this to anyone visiting and I often take friends there.

Thanks and will keep recommending you

“just have to say the most beautiful cafe/gallery with excellent food and service”
Reviewed January 17, 2014

I have visited this unique Cumbrian tea room several times and most recently in the first week of January. As always, a very warm welcome from the owner, Mark and, a feature also most welcome, a roaring fire on a very cold day!The food is always excellent, whether it's tea and cake, a bowl of warming soup, a sandwich or a fully cooked meal, it's all home made and beautifully presented. I truly adore the building and it's view, stunning scenery through the most marvellous picture window. The gallery is also a joy to look around and is home to some very lovely pictures and local craftwork. I can highly recommend a call to this cafe/gallery in any month of the year, there will always be a warm welcome for you - in my view, FABULOUS!

“Second visit of many!”
Reviewed January 16, 2014 via mobile

This is the second time we have been to keswick & both times we have visited Mae's tea room. The staff are lovely and the food is beautiful and worth every penny. All of the cakes are homemade and they all look so good i wanted to try them all :-) We sat on the chairs infront of the log fire and had a hot drink too which was lovely.
It is a lovely place to go i highly recomend Mae's and i'm already looking forward to my next visit :-)

“CUMBRIA'S BEST”
Reviewed November 20, 2013

We do enjoy our cafe runs in South Scotland and the North of England and this is the best we have found in Cumbria - a true hidden gem, that picture window over the stunning countryside, the at home feel and welcome, sincere folk who pride themselves in their business - spotlessly clean, and good honest food which was that good we drove back on the following Sunday for Sunday lunch - a feast indeed.
Excellent value for money.
The artwork on display is a bonus but even that doesn't detract you from the view.
