Could not fault this hotel which was booked at the last minute to save a long drive after a social event.
Twin room very clean, great facilities and quite large, Excellent sea view, plenty of parking and really warm on a cold winters day. Breakfast had good selection and the full English was huge.
Plan to return in a few weeks. Very reasonable.

I had the pleasure of sharing my twin and myself 's 50th Birthday at my pub the Robin Hood at Cleator Moor on the 11th of January 2014 - but what made it very special was the chance to book my family and some close friends into the Seacote Hotel and the chance for 6 others including me and twinnie to join them for Breakfast on the Sunday morning - it made the weekend. So many many thanks to the fabulous team that served us breakfast and looked after my friends and family sincere thanks.

Oh and lastly i know i have told her in person a huge huge thanks to Dawn i don't need to say anything more just thanks and my eternal gratitude you did me and my twin proud x x x

Room Tip: i can't rate sleep quality i didn't stop there but my friends and family were delighted - g...

got a room for £15 each after a christmas party. lovely comfy room, warm, nice outlook, tea and biscuits, what more could you want.
The breakfast included for the price, incredible, such a choice and very friendly staff.
the hotel is not modern but who needs that, fantastic for walkers or just a quiet weekend.

Room Tip: some of the room have beautiful view of the sea

A warm friendly welcome awaited us by Dawn on reception, what a lovely lady! Check in was fast and efficient, keys to the room were waiting in door. A small lift was available to upper floors. Bedroom was a little shabby but scrupulously clean with nice pure white fluffy towels, plenty of storage and draw space. Television could have been bigger. Good quality tea, coffee and biscuits replenished each day. A fantastic powerful shower and toiletries provided and even quilted toilet paper! The biggest let down was the bed it was like sleeping on a slab of stone, we didn't sleep well all week!!
Breakfast was very good with a choice of several fruit juices, top branded cereals, tea, coffee and hot water. Full English was then served and as much toast and preserves as you could eat. The waiting staff were excellent and very accommodating, an asset to the hotel.
The evening three course choice of meals were very good and well presented, again the waiting staff were excellent and our food was served quickly.
The bar prices were expensive and the bottles of wine very expensive, however the bar staff were very hard working and friendly. A little background music in the bar and dining areas would have been nice to add to the Christmas atmosphere. We had entertainment each evening either bingo/quiz or singers who were very good.
The location of the Seacote is amazing and the hotel in general was clean and tidy. The biggest asset is their staff, not a grumpy face to be seen, well done! We would stay again and hope the beds have been updated!

Room Tip: Ask for sea view!

Just spent a weekend with a wonderful group of dancers at this hotel. What a Gem of a place to stay. The outlook from the hotel was awesome, the hotel itself was just great, warm cosy rooms, clean, plenty of tea, coffee, milk, biscuits etc etc., every day in the bedrooms, lovely clean towels as well. And for the food, amazing, great portions at every meal and the choice was excllent, well done chef, you did a great job. And the staff, too many names to remember, they were all lovely and worked so hard, doing long hours, but always with a smile, special mention to Jake our barman, what a lovely young man and wee Beth I think she was called, she was just great. Spoke to the girls who looked after the bedrooms and they were also so helpful, all in all this is a well run hotel and can't wait to go back again next year. I am also going to recommend to my family who are hoping to visit this area next year for a walking holiday. Well done to you all, we'll be back. Thanks again.

Room Tip: Ask when booking for a seaview as the views are superb, really amazing.

Take no notice of bad reviews and judge for yourself. I have just spent three nights half-board along with about 50 other people at a dance event. Was very apprehensive after reading some negative reviews but was very pleased with my stay. The room was very cosy considering it was a cold weekend, the staff very friendly and helpful (and hard working), the food was excellent. The hotel is in a superb location and I will definitely be returning next year.
