I had occassion to visit this pub recently for a drink, while at the bar I was waiting to be served one of the regulars came in and a woman whom I can only assume was the landlady totally ignored me and served the local. I found the bar fairly unfriendly, comfort and ambiance were lacking and decided not to revisit the pub for something to eat as there are 2 other pubs in the village which are much nicer, friendlier and provided a better service.

Came for some late drinks here one evening and returned the evening after for rib eye steaks which we had ordered and were bought from the butcher next door.

Carol the landlady and her son were great fun, and the chef got a round of applause for the quality of his cooking.

Great selection of real ales along with a nicely stocked bar.

Perhaps more of a smile from the waitress who perhaps didn't enjoy the slightly raucous but friendly nature of our group.

Plenty of choice here for a hand pulled pint here and they are all as good as they should be. They regularly change the guest beers too so there's always something different to try. I've also eaten here a couple of times and have always enjoyed it. Make no mistake, this is no restaurant and there are no false airs and graces, what you get is great tasting, home cooked food.

A decent pint and a tasty home cooked meal, what more do you want?

Food - nothing to write home about. Very warm welcome. Pity they do not accept credit cards especially if you are a traveling foreigner with not too many pounds (sterling) on you.
