“Awe inspiring atmosphere”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 17, 2012

This unique ancient building has a simplicity about it that gets to your soul. The walls tell their story. The space is full of textures, colours and atmosphere that are serene and informing. A wonderful place to reflect and renew.

“My Local Chapel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 25, 2012

I lived in Brigflatts Cottage directly opposite the Meeting House for eight months in 2004 and was taken with the wooden interior of the building. It is a peaceful place ideal for some quiet meditation - as long as you don't mind the smell of wood which is still very strong after over 400 years!

“An oasis of calm and tranquility!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 12, 2012

Beautiful little 17th Century Meeting House - atmospheric and welcoming. Tea and coffee making facilities - just contribute a little money. Lovely garden to sit in and let the busy world slide away for a few minutes. And a stunning location under the beautiful Howgill Hills.

“Peace and Tranquility”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 22, 2012

We have walked to the meeting house from Sedbergh a couple of times and its like an oasis tucked away from the stresses of everyday life.

You can walk around the meeting house at your leisure and make a cup of tea or coffee.

We have only visited in the better weather and just sat outside in the garden and recharged our batteries.

The history of the meeting house is very interesting and worth a visit.

“A peaceful, spiritual place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 4, 2011

I first visited here on a school trip many years ago. Came back on a nostalgia trip. It's wonderful place to visit and spend some quiet time with your thoughts or in prayer.
