High Fold is a lovely bed and breakfast that has an amazing aspect. Les and Susan were excellent hosts. The breakfast was delicious and as we ate, we looked over the valley to the fells beyond. We were in the room called Applethwaite. It was extremely spacious, it was more like an apartment really. It had two seating areas, large flat screen television, satellite, broadband and an enormous comfortable bed. The view from our room was spectacular. Troutbeck is a lovely unspoilt Cumbrian village and the nearby pub (The Mortal Man) served a tasty evening meal. We would very happily return to High Fold.

From arriving to leaving, we felt part of the family. We arrived following very heavy snow and were contacted by them prior to our departure to give us the option of changing our booking. We were determined to make the trip so they advised us of the best routes to take and how best to avoid the worst of the snow. We received a very warm welcome and the room was perfect, if cold! Breakfast was fresh and home cooked. There was a wide selection of fruit and it was beautifully presented. We were offered walking poles to help us as we trekked through the snow drifts. The guest house is set in beautiful surroundings and the owners have excellent knowledge of walks, amenities and places to visit. We will definitely revisit.

Room Tip: The deluxe room with the king size bed and bath is well worth paying extra for.

An excellent place to stay. We were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The rooms were lovely -well arranged with everything you could want to hand and superb views over the valley. The breakfast was freshly cooked to order. We can't recommend it highly enough and look forward to going back again.

We have recently returned from our fourth visit to this fabulous B&B having thoroughly enjoyed our stay, as on previous occasions. The location is beautiful, peaceful and the views from the rooms wonderful. The place is immaculate and beautifully furnished and the breakfasts great with a huge variety of fresh fruit and yoghurts preceeding an excellent cooked breakfast. The owners have extensive knowledge of the area with lots of tips and advice for walking, plenty of which is available from the door. Little extras, such as a flask of coffee to take out with us on a freezing day make this a gem of a place and it is definately somewhere we would recommend to anyone wanting a first class stay in the Lakes.

We come back year after year to this fantastic B and B - the setting is beautiful, the rooms are lovely and the breakfast is amazing! We have stayed in various other B and B's around the country and none have ever come close to the luxurious experience at High Fold. We can't speak highly enough of it!
