The first time we have stayed here, and we were amazed by the quality of the cabins. We stayed in jinnyspinner overlooking the beck and nearby fields. It was cold ouside and we even had snow on our last day, but we were snug, with all the amenities we could want. I would not hesitate to recommend, the park and in particular our cabin to everyone. We have watched a buzzard, tree creeper, and dippers. Yesterday we had two deer not 50ft from our decking. Often when you are away from home, the beds are a disappointment but this time, so comfortable. It was obvious from the visitors book that others had found that to be the case.
The site has its own pub, the haybarn, what a welcome, the licencee had only been there 10 months, children and dogs welcome it was spotless and did fabulous food at a very reasonable price, our party would recommend the fish it was huge, personally I liked the chilli perfection.
We have stopped in the lakes numerous times, in caravans at different sites, but now we have found Limefitt park, we will be back.
Thank you so much for making our holiday break such a wonderful experience.

This is our 3rd time to Limefitt, each time we have had a different cabin. This time we rented one direct from owners John and Linda Hobson and the cabin was really nice, very smart. 2 bedrooms, main one with a very comfy bed! 2 bathrooms, water pressure was a little low in the shower but to be expected. The cabin was warm and a good home from home. The lounge was big with nice comfy sofas and they had also left some DVD's which we watched after a long day walking. The kitchen had everything in it you needed. We took our dog with us and the cabin was our base for some really great walks. Having the dog field in Limefitt is also good as there is somewhere to let the dog off for a quick run in the morning. Would definately recommend this place to stay, great to be able to relax in your own lounge after a long day out walking.

Thanks for that great review of Troutbeck View lodge. It's always rewarding to receive such positive feedback. We will raise the issue of the water pressure with park management - thanks for letting us know. We hope we'll be able to welcome you back again before too long. After recently staying at White Cross Bay in October 2012, also owned by South Lakeland Holidays, we decided to stay at Limefitt Park as it's location was perfect for walkers.
On arrival to the park we were greeted by Mark & Janet, part of the reception team at Limefitt Park, who checked us in to our lodge for our Monday - Friday stay, Kirkstone 20, also known as Holly Bank.
On arrival to our lodge we were very impressed. The lodge was located on the main road up to the Hay Barn Inn (the sites pub). Kirkstone 20 was perfect for us, it is one of the dog friendly lodges on Limefitt Park. To be honest, it is very, very hard to fault the lodge we stayed in. It was well equipped with everything you would ever need for a self catering holiday.
Kirkstone 20 was beautiful inside and finished to a very high standard by the owners. With a dishwasher, full fridge/freezer and washing machine.
The lodge had recently been cleaned by the South Lakeland Holidays cleaning team. Now unlike our stay at white cross bay, the lodge was spotless. Cleaned to a very high standard which was perfect.
Throughout our stay we took many local walks as advised by Mark on the reception team. We really enjoyed our walks from limefitt park. The best part for us about Limefitt park was it's location, you are able to take walks directly from the park, so no need for a car throughout our holiday.
On many occasions throughout our stay we visited the Hay Barn Inn on the site. Another good point for us was that dogs our welcome throughout the site, even in the pub. The Hay Barn Inn was a lovely pub with a really warm feeling everytime you went in. We were served by Susan in the pub throughout our stay, i must say she is an asset to South Lakeland Holidays team, providing us with OUSTANDING customer service throughout our stay.
Another credit must go to Janet & Mark on the reception team. Both have provided with outstanding customer service throughout our stay. However, Mark has gone above & beyond with his service provided. Nothing was ever too much trouble for Mark and he had a great local knowledge for walks. A true asset to your team!!!!!
I would like to thank everyone at Limefitt Park for giving us an amazing holiday and we can't wait to return soon!!!

Just returned from a four night stay in the beautiful Kirkstone 3 lodge with my family. Outstanding views from this lovely 6 berth lodge. Been coming to Limefitt for many years and this was the best yet. Spent new years eve in the haybarn where we had a fantastic night with disco & buffet. Lots of nice walks from the sight infact we only used the car once in the time we were there. Definitely be returning next new year if not before.

Great 2 bedroomed traditionally styled log cabin right on the river bank. Perfect base for walking in the surrounding fells. Stayed back in Spring 2010.

Limefitt Park itself is fantastic with plenty facilities, shop, Haybarn pub, walks on the doorstep.

We have returned to Limefitt twice since staying in different lodges and have booked another holiday for Christmas.

After this lovely place was the setting for my partner and I's first holiday together, 3 years later we decided to take our 2 children back to the place where we had made many lovely memories. This time we stayed in 'Horseshoe Lodge' owned by Anthony and Gail and once again we were not disappointed. The lodge was located on the Wansfell development of the site and overlooked the beck and the stunning rolling countryside of Troutbeck and beyond, the drive itself up to the park in lovely and really easy off all the major motorway networks. We hired the lodge as a 2 bedroomed lodge however this is also available as a 3 bed for minimal charge.
The lodge was lovely, clean and modern with all the facilities you could possibly want, the decking was lovely to sit out on and have a glass of wine in an evening whilst we did not have to worry that the baby who has just started walking would escape and the outside is all fully enclosed.
Limefitt has everything you could possibly want for a relaxing family break all in one place, the Haybarn Inn which was a short few minutes stroll is a pleasant public house located on the site and serves all local ales and reasonably priced food. Very relaxing and welcoming and the staff are very friendly and made my 9 year old son feel very welcome. There is a small onsite shop selling the basics from breakfast items to newspapers, we found the nice thing about this little shop is that they do DVD rentals for a small charge also which was a nice touch, especially for Mum and Dad whilst the kids are asleep.
In terms of location you really cannot go far wrong with this place, 5 minutes drive into Bowness on Windermere where we sailed on a lake cruise and also experienced the Hatherwaite Railway, the kids loved feeding th swans by the lake which get very up close and personal! We also paid a trip up to Grizedale forest where we participated in Go ape which was brilliant!

Overall a brilliant holiday which we were sad to come home from, we have already booked to go back next month!!!

We stayed at Troutbeck View lodge from 2nd to 5th July, and were immediately blown away by the standard of the luxurious accommodation. Clean, spacious, high spec, yet still very cozy. Every need was catered for by John and Linda. The park itself meets all the requirements of a family. Our 3 year old daughter and spaniel puppy both made the most of the outdoor facilities, on the rare occasion the weather allowed. This being the only gripe, it rained pretty much every day of our stay, but such was the standard of our lodge and local amenities, it didn't bother us at all. It was best 5 days of our summer, and £450 well spent. We cannot wait to go back!
