In all communications with Anna she has been extremely helpful and kind. Before we arrived Anna was easily contactable to ensure all of our questions were answered and ensured everything was clear before we arrived. Her service really has been great.
The cottage itself is very homely and comes very well equipped. All kitchen utensils provided (maybe even more than you'd need) as well as having an ipod dock & CD player if you want to relax to some music.Maps of the local area are provided in the home as well as books explaining many hikes the lake district has to offer to help you plan your hikes, we found these really useful.
Price wise for what you get I believe the cottage is a bargain if you have a group of you sharing the cost.
The only potential downside could be the location - for me and my friends this wasn't a problem as we wanted somewhere a bit more peaceful, we didn't want to stay in the main towns as I know they are extremely busy during the summer. Windermere is a 20 minute drive as is Kendal - for food shopping the closest place is Ulverston, a 10-15 minute drive depending on traffic. As long as you have a car with you this shouldn't be a problem.
If you are planning on hiking Scafell Pike then it's roughly a little over an hours drive from the cottage to the starting point at Seathwaite farm.
All in all a great cottage at a great price as well as having a very helpful and polite point of contact in Anna - I would happily return again.
