This hotel is in a very picturesque location at the bottom of Windermere over looking the river Leven. The spa and swimming pool are second to none however the pool is a bit on the small side if you want to swim lengths it's more for just relaxing which is what this place is all about chilling in a warm friendly atmosphere.
The hotel is finished to a good standard and enjoys a good bar and restaurant, they have also used the outdoor space well with tables and chairs set out next to the river where you can eat and drink in peaceful surroundings.
The rooms are well proportioned with plenty of storage good size bathroom/shower etc air con which it needs in the summer, however my only criticism is when people refurb hotels why do they put in such thin walls you can hear people next door and also in the corridor which is annoying to say the least but apart from that it's ok.
The food was excellent with plenty of choice, you are however a captive audience there is only one other place nearby where you can go to eat and drink and this is another hotel ( The Newby Bridge Hotel) the food is reasonably priced however the wine is dear you will pay £20 a bottle for something that will cost £6 in a super market having said that you know this when you go hope this has been of help.
