We stayed in one of the timeshare units. The cottage was superbly fitted out and wanted for nothing. Everything was spotlessly clean and every comfort had been thought of. The hotel was also excellent. We only had a sandwich in the Dolly Blue Bar but that was excellent. We did not use the hotel restaurant as we were self-catering. We definitely recommend.

Room Tip: We stayed in cottage no. 28 which was a great location - close enough to all the amenities but not too close to be a problem.

We work very closely with The Lakeland Village who look after the self catering facility so we were pleased to see you enjoyed both aspects during your stay and we have passed your kind comments on to the team there.

I have just returned from The Whitewater Hotel, Just sorry that I hadn't seen the groupon deal then I could have stayed for 2 nights instead of 1.
I visited with 7 friends, all ladies, we went to celebrate my birthday. We are all busy working wives and mothers and had looked forward to a night away to relax and enjoy ourselves. We were not disappointed. We where well looked after by all the staff in both the hotel and the spa. The food was excellent and the service discrete and smooth.
The hotel is in a beautiful location and is very peaceful but still easily accessible from the M6.
Prior to our stay the staff where most helpful and accommodating even when we had to change our booking around at short notice.
Thank you for an excellent stay, we are hopefully going to return.

I would like to make special mention of the staff . Coming from Scotland we arrived later than anticipated and had to put back our dinner reservation. Not a problem. We needed advice on the best route-extremely helpful and practical. We now know that the shortest route- via the Kirkstone pass would not have been a good idea in the dark!
Everyone was polite and helpful. Nothing was a problem. At last somewhere in the U.K. with faultless service.

Room Tip: Upgrade to river view.

We also bought this two night deal through Groupon. We were apprehensive when we drove into the car park of the hotel as the frontage is not very impressive but boy were we surprised. We had to pay a surcharge for a superior room as all the standard rooms were booked, however there was a beautiful canopy bed in our room and a jacuzzi bath and fluffy white dressing gowns and slippers supplied and a lovely view onto the River Leven. Our deal was for one evening dinner and two breakfasts, so we thought we would keep the dinner date for the next night and we ate a very hearty meal in the small bar. One meal would have been enough for two as the portions were enormous. Breakfast had everything to suit all and on a help yourself basis, although tea or coffee and mixed toast served to your table. The best was yet to come though! Evening dinner was of the highest quality and beautifully presented with very special choices. I believe the chef is French and in my opinion five star plus!! We visited a magnificent motor exhibition nearby and also a Donald campbell exhibition of the speed records he achieved and his sad demise on Lake Coniston had a light lunch then back to the hotel to use the free leisure facilities which was also part of the deal. The staff in the hotel should be commended as they were very friendly and helpful. All in all a very enjoyable experience which I would recommend to everyone, even paying the full price. Please don,t be put off by the frontage of the Hotel as it used to be a mill producing explosive material and many other things. It is also quite isolated but in driving distance of Windermere and Ulverston where there is plenty going on.

Room Tip: Room No 302 was very light and sunny and had great views of the River Leven.
