We have been visiting the Lakeside Hotel for several years now and were delighted to stay there again when it reopened after the flood damage. The setting on the lake shore is delightful and the extended conservatory is a lovely place to sit and while away an hour or two taking in the great views! The service is friendly and efficient and staff are charming. When we take our granddaughter (7) we have one of the premier rooms at the rear overlooking the fields and woodland. These are spacious and quiet with a decent sized bed and sofa bed. The bathrooms are quite large and warm with huge mirrors. The only downside is that the showerhead is fixed to the wall over the bath. This makes it impossible to wash your hair without having a shower!

The pool is delicious! Haven't tried the spa treatments yet. There is a small fitness room.

Ruskins bistro is £38 per person and drinks are a tad on the expensive side but always enjoyable. I think you can choose a meal from the menu and have it in the bar which could work out cheaper. My husband is a vegetarian and they have a separate veggie menu which was good. The main dining room is very elegant.

Looking forward to returning later this year.

We come here each year for our headteachers conference; I've always loved it, so this year I decided to stay for the weekend. My other half came up on Friday and we stayed two heavenly days. The service is indeed the part which stands out. The food is exquisite; the breakfast truly memorable. We stayed in room 412-a garden room. The bathroom needed a little extra clean upon arrival-but when i complained they sorted it straight away and were very apologetic. The bed was the most comfortable ever-like slipping into a hug!
I can hardly find words to describe the whole wonderful experience. I felt like we had been away from the world for at least a week, so relaxed and happy were we upon return. It's pricey, but you do indeed get what you pay for in this world, and especially here!
Thank you to all the wonderful staff. I can't wait for my next visit.

I have stayed at Lakeside many times for work and pleasure, and have just spent a another great Spring weekend there. As always it was a wonderfully relaxing experience in beautiful surroundings, with fantastic food, a comfortable stylish bedroom and fabulous spa and pool facilities. However what really stands out for me, and always makes me want to return, is the quality of service. The staff at Lakeside make guests feel genuinely welcome. They are invariably helpful and nothing is ever too much trouble. I'll be back !

stayed at this hotel at the weekend for the first time since December 2005 & the fifth time in all. stayed in room 71 which has a four poster realy confortable bed, an amazing bathroom and a superb view of windermere. the service and the whole atmosphere remains as good as ever. Food and wine are excellent, however staying here does not come cheap and for any potential customers take advantage of the extra night free promotion the hotel sometimes runs if you want better vakue for money

Treat yourself to a stay at this hotel, my family and I have been going to the Lakeside for 6 years and it has always been outstanding, we stayed again for the weekend recently and had a wonderful stay as usual. This hotel combines beautiful location and 1st class facilities with really attentive and genuinely charming staff. The Lakeside provides that certain something that a lot of other quality hotels are missing, and we would rate it as one of the best hotels in the UK. We keep going back and we are always delighted.
