Everything about this accommodation was wonderful. The welcome from the hostess and the beautiful breakfasts and dinner we had there were lovely. The rooms are outstanding - we stayed in the The Stables whilst our daughter and her husband had a room in the main house. The rooms are large, beds comfortable and the bathrooms stunning! Being on the western side of the Lakes District meant it was very peaceful but still close enough for lovely drives through the bucolic surroundings to the other lake areas. There are lots of great pubs nearby with great meals including the Wheatsheaf.

A lovely setting and amazing hot tub. The place is not easy to get to and no tv in the room. Would have been to have a shower in the room than just a bath and breakfast went cold very quickly and had no beans and sausage. Lovely host n cream tea and scones when we got there. Nice place to visit but wouldn't go again.

Just returned from a wonderful two day break in Hazels' beautiful guest house. Our stay couldn't have been improved in a way,a warm welcome from Hazel and roaring fires in the reception and comfy lounge. The bedroom was like the rest of the house, amazing, stunning views from both windows and most comfortable bed ever. The bath room was very stylish and loved the idea of relaxing in the bath whilst enjoying the view from the window.
After a lovely meal in the local pub we enjoyed a bottle of bubbly under the stars in th Hot-tub,so relaxing and peaceful.
I thoroughly recommend New House Farm and we will certainly return

We stayed for one night in february. We were welcomed by the host (Hazel) whom was the perfect host. could not fault the place or the room. Attention to detail was spot on. had a lovely evening in the hot tub under the stars with a couple of beers. Had the best sleep in the comfiest of beds. Best scones ever. Even the dogs were fab, and they`ve got the best life. This was followed the next day with a really tasty , filling breakfast to get us energized for a lovely walk in the near by hills. A BIG THANKS.

The weather was outstanding - always a bonus in The Lakes - and this set the scene for our second stay at New House Farm.

Met by a roaring log burner in the hall and an equally warm welcome from Hazel Thompson. This is a very special place with fantastically large beds and, in Swindale Room, a power shower with body jets. Hazel's homemade scones with jam and cream with tea were delicious and, having not eaten dinner there previously, we were delighted that we chose to this time - Hazel made an outstanding dinner with duck, salmon and sticky toffee pudding helped down with a healthy wine list, and coffee in front of the fire.

Unfortunately we forgot to pack swimming shorts otherwise a dip in the garden hot tub would have been tempting (in spite of the February temperatures!).

We thoroughly recommend a stay at New House Farm, and letting Hazel treat you to dinner. We will certainly be back!!

I held my wedding reception at New House Farm in November 2012, and stayed there for two nights along with some friends who were attending my wedding. New House Farm is a lovely, peaceful place to stay. The rooms are beautiful, lovely and clean with the comfiest beds, and Hazel's breakfast's are great too! Hazel is amazing and nothing is too much trouble for her. My wedding guests commented on how much they enjoyed their stay also, and said Hazel was really welcoming and helpful, which took the stress off me! I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending New House Farm for accommodation or a wedding venue. It's nice that I have such a lovely place to return to with fond memories of my weddings. Thanks Hazel! xxx

We stayed for one night in 'The Stable' room. The room was beautiful and luxurious with an amazing four-poster bed which was as comfortable to sleep in as it looked. The hot tub in our bathroom was fab and the provided towels were fluffy. There were additional lovely touches in the room such as dressing gowns and fruit. The grounds were beautiful and the views amazing. We had dinner at a nearby pub in Lorton. Hazel and her staff were friendly and helpful. The scones on arrival (as part of our groupon offer) were divine and there was a range of fresh food at breakfast. We took our dog - which in hindsight wasn't the best for a romantic break - but she was made to feel as welcome as us. Looking forward to staying again soon!
