This was our 10th visit in as many years. As always we were extremely well looked after, good, wholesome food, cheerful, friendly and efficient staff. The inn is located perfectly for a wide variety of walks. The beauty of Eskdale and the Brook House Inn combined to give us a fantastic break. We will be back!!

Room Tip: Why would we let others in on our secret? Go there and find out.

Returned once again to Brook house, having stayed here several times before & once again we were not dissapointed.Friendly, helpful staff Room clean & tidy with stunning views.
we came here to chill out as done before and we certainly did that. What a bar/snug area to unwind in whilst sampling the local real ales on tap...not forgetting to ask about "the bible"!![[for those who dont know the selection of malts, quite comprehensive]] Not to mention the selection & quality of the food too....marvellous. Unfortunatly it was only a weekend break but it was enough to calm down from a hectic/busy time Back at home.

Room Tip: depends upon exactly what you require from your stay ...a look on web is advisable as what people require varies from person to person...

We were struggling to find anywhere to stay over the weekend and stumbled across this place. We do not normally travel to Eskdale but thought we would try something different.

The hospitality and friendliness of the team was second to none. The food was that good that I managed to consume half the specials board...lol well two of its main courses and a healthy bowl of mussels to start which were divine. My family also enjoyed their food very much.

The whole place had a lovely feel to it and it felt like home.

We highly recommend this little Gem and are seriously looking to book a stay here at least once a month in times to come.

Big thumbs up !!!!

we stayed as part of Contours Walking tours; our bags were transferred ahead while we walked there. Downside: We hit unseasonably hot July weather - in high 80's and 90's - and no B & Bs or guesthouses have a/c. Not a deficiency but something to definitely be aware of if you go in the summer. Arrived with a mild case of heat exhaustion and truly don't even remember our room....but the place, which is pretty much out in the middle of nowhere - was great. Good rooms, super pleasant people, bustling pub downstairs with very good to excellent food - family operation, a local destination. Very busy. Quiet place to sleep, and the next morning when we decided to forego our walk they were very helpful trying to rustle up the taxi service that transferred our luggage to see if we could ride along with it to our next destintion. Overall, an excellent experience. Room - which is coming back to me - clean, slightly old but in excellent condition, good bathroom

At the end of a long day's walking on the Inn Way to the Lakes it was just great to arrive at Brook House. A bath! Super food! Lovely ambiance! The specials menu gives an excellent choice of food, and outside seating means you can enjoy the views of the surrounding fells.
