“Cosy cottage ”
Reviewed June 10, 2017 for a stay in June 2017

If you're looking for a peaceful and quiet escape then look no further, this cute country cottage is set in the idyllic countryside in Eskdale. The views from the windows are breathtaking. The only down side to this area is how far away it is from everything, but then it's perfect for a tranquil escape. There are a few pubs, I would recommend the bower inn. The cottage has everything you need and more. Would highly recommend.

“Lovely Cosy Cottage”
Reviewed May 7, 2017 for a stay in May 2017

The location is a very quiet Village with the most gorgeous views. If you want to chill out lovely place to go, the cottage had everything you could ever want, the garden is amazing very pet friendly my dog loved it. I can't wait to book it again, there is loads of walks to do you can catch the steam train and the two pubs The Bower Arms the food was great and King George nice to sit outside and dog friendly. The added touches in the cottage of Milk, butter, bread, bacon and eggs I thought was lovely and tasted good too, worth a visit.

“Lovely Cottage”
Reviewed February 17, 2016 for a stay in February 2016

What a lovely cottage, we stayed for one week and could have stayed for more.
The cottage sleeps 6, 2 double and 2 singles in 3 bedrooms, we only stayed in the one room of course being the two of us, the dog (Springer) slept in the warm kitchen.

The cottage is well placed in Eskdale green village with parking and has a fab garden with access to the great outdoors at the rear of the property via a lockable gate.

We were welcomed on our cold and wintry Friday evening with a great welcome pack, red wine, bacon, eggs, loaf of bread, butter, if there's more I honestly can't remember but it was all very delicious indeed, thank you.

The kitchen is spacious, a farm house kitchen table sits 6, there's an Aga cooker which I personally loved, plenty of storage space and utensils. Decent fridge/freezer, dishwasher, radio and an outside toilet where the tumble dryer sat.

The front room was lovely, although a little chilly at times but there's a couple of extra heaters to assist with getting that temperature up while you wait for the multi-fuel stove to get going. A decent sized TV, with DVD/Game console and the full Sky sports/Movie package to boot. Adding decent Wifi everything was fab down stairs. plenty of wood and coal in the outhouse.

The bedrooms were comfy, we stayed in the room with the TV on the wall and everything was okay here, the towels that were provided were fine also. A decent bathroom with corner bath and an electric shower concludes upstairs.

Large garden outside, with sufficient lighting for the night time kept our dog busy during our stay.

The cottage is well placed in Eskdale, unfortunately we stayed the week before any thing opened but this wasn't an issue as we walked everyday any way. Walks from the cottage was easy and we drove the extra couple of miles to the beach for a walk one day when we fancied an ice cream! We did venture to the local pub 'The Bower House' on one evening for our dinner which was really good and tasty, decent beer also!

Overall an excellent cottage, we use cottages once or twice every year and I must admit this was one of the best we have stayed in, well done the owners. My only grumble, and little it is some of the dishes in the kitchen were a tad dirty but every thing else top marks.

“A very happy family Christmas”
Reviewed December 27, 2015 for a stay in December 2015

A Christmas tree, fairy lights, mince pies and more welcomed us to this very cosy cottage.. Situated in Eskdale Green the cottage is within easy walking distance of two pubs, general stores and the Ratty Railway with two off road parking places. What more could we wish for to enable a small boy, his parents and grandparents to enjoy a very happy Christmas in such beautiful surroundings. OK weather meant the keen walkers had their day out up Whin Rigg returning via Miterdale whilst Ambleside provided enjoyment for others.
