“A hard days drive”
Reviewed June 20, 2013

Daunting from the bottom, magnificent views from the top. Do not be put off by the apparently impassible view from the bottom. Take it steady using the passing places sensibly and give way to those on the ascent. You will have a sense of achievement once you get down the other side. Enjoy!

“Amazing views”
Reviewed June 16, 2013

On the day we did this the weather had been showery although it was dry the sky was really dramatic which just added to the beauty.

Not a hard road to drive just take it slowly as there are sheep on the road and sharp corners and lots of brows of hill that you cannot see over or round and as the road on the main is a single track you need to be aware of oncoming traffic.

Parts of it are 25% so it is a really fun drive as well, quite a few places where you can pull off the road and stop to take photos, and the views are amazing!

If it was icy/snowy or really heavy rain/poor visibility I would not recommend it though as if you do run into difficulty there was no mobile signal and it is a long walk for help!

“Mountain pass”
Reviewed June 10, 2013

It is not a road for proper driving. It is mountain pass, which mostly used by farmers and by travellers. DO NOT use this pass, if you are not confident in your car, yourselves or weather conditions as it may be dangerous. Views are fantastic, see photos enclosed.

“Fun driving”

Over hardknott pass (not for the feint hearted) then over wrynose pass, it is like a different world, sheep and deer abundant. Cumbria's very own lost world

“Wrynose Pass”

Be warned it's a narrow road, very steep (1 in 4), take your time though and look ahead to give way to other drivers, absolutely superb scenery, well worth the trip
