Nice large clean room, nicely decorated and good size bathroom and shower.
Quiet location and only two rooms, so not noise from other guests.
Breakfast was good, and freshly prepared. I would only recommend maybe some fresh fruit be available.
Easy walking distance to the village, and they provide a little torch as a key ring, as little street lighting at night. Plenty of lovely foodie eateries and shops in Cartmel, including L'enclume which was the purpose for our visit to Cartmel, and I must say an excellent tastes sensation.

We stayed two nights and can think of NO adverse comments. The room was light, airy, and tastefully decorated. The bed was comfortable and warm. The room had tea/coffee/biscuits available, a flat screen TV (wall mounted), plenty of mirrors and sockets and...... sherry! The ensuite bathroom was spacious, very clean and had all toiletries supplied. The towels were soft and fluffy and kept warm by the towel rail. Marvellous! However, the breakfast menu was excellent and when served it proved to be one of the best breakfasts we can remember. All produce locally sourced and although I had poached eggs I had to 'poach' a bit of my husband's black pudding.....mmmmm. Carol was the best host. Always around if needed and attentive at breakfast time. From the breakfast you look out into the garden where we watched the birds squabbling for their breakfast. All so peaceful. Hope we'll find an excuse to visit again.

Like many others we booked both rooms to stay in Cartmel with friends while visiting L'Enclume. The bed is very comfortable and the breakfast excellent. Caroline couldn't have been more helpful in fitting in with our arrival and departure times. I wish I'd taken a bird book as I spent a relaxing hour watching a stream of visitors to the many feeders Caroline has placed round the garden but not being very expert could only identify about half! Would be lovely to sit out in summer. We may have to return!

Stayed for 1 night in February to visit L'enclume. Had booked out both rooms as we were with friends and we weren't disappointed. Can't really say any more that hasn't already been said. Lovely spacious room, a home from home, and just enough distance from the village to walk off a good meal.
Will stay here again for sure.

We stayed at Calsfell view on a trip to L'Enclume and a snowy hike up Coniston Old Man. Found it on Tripadvisor and the comments are all spot-on. Comfortable and spacious room and Caroline was very helpful with some top tips about the restaurants and the area. The highlight was the breakfast. Caroline sure can cook a great breakfast and the Eggs Benedict was sublime. Great B&B and well worth the consistently high ratings.

What more can you ask for ? Immaculate rooms , delightful knowledgeable host , great breakfast. Me and my wife felt really looked after and will be back soon. If not before to open my own kennels . Suppose if I was super critical some paracetamol for l'enclumers would be good !
