“In the area so had to be nosey”
Reviewed January 19, 2013

Having been to the Abbey House Hotel for the night we wanted to try some of the artisan goodies we had seen on the Best British Bakery programme
Congratulations to all at the bakery for being one of the top three bakeries in the country
We settled on tear and share garlic bread, two vanilla slices,a chocolate brownie,a lemon drizzle cake and an egg custard for my Mum
Mums verdict was delicious, shame the bakery is so far away
Everything else was scrummy I will have to ask if they do a postal service lol
We didn't need to have a coffee as we had just had breakfast which was a shame as the cafe looked very inviting and was busy, the locals know a good thing when they have it.
Everything looked great well presented and really tasty looking so much to choose from I only wished we were nearer
Village bakeries must never die out they are so important to the local community and I am sure the people of Broughton and the surrounding area appreciate the hard work and dedication that goes into bringing such glorious food to their homes and tummies
We had a quick word with the lady baker from the TV show who was serving in the shop along with a young lady
She was delighted we had gone out of our way to visit on our way home to Lytham St Annes
We are glad we did and have enjoyed everything we bought
Well done again and we will call again
Thank you

“Amazing Fresh Produce”
Reviewed January 15, 2013

I love this Tea Shop/Bakery. I didn't get to see the programme they were featured in, and couldn't at first understand why the place was absolutely packed out!!. The newish owners have done a wonderful job, the baked goods are of an excellent quality, keenly priced too. They really have made such a success of this business. We always load up on bread when we holiday near by. The seven grain loaf is fab and I can't recommend it enough. My partner is addicted to the custard slices. I had croissants which were light and just like the ones in France, chocolate brownie with raspberries, delish, and my favourite the wonderful egg custards.

We picked up more loaves to put in the freezer at home, on our way back. The queue was out the door for all the goodies on offer. Bigger premises on the horizon I think!

The owners and staff are just lovely too. Congratulations on their hard work, it really has paid off bigtime!

“Hidden treasure...well worth a visit!”
Reviewed January 8, 2013

After seeing Broughton Village Bakery feature on the ITV series 'Britain's Best Bakery' we just had to pay it a visit...and we are so glad we did.
The owners Shaun and Chrissi were lovely as were the other staff we saw. Very welcoming and cozy with the wood burning stove roaring away on a miserable Cumbrian day!
Lunch was delicious, cheese scones to die for, and the cakes and bread we brought home were also gorgeous, and a huge range on offer too.
If you are ever that way in the Lake District, definitely fit a trip here into your itinerary.

“Go!! - Definitely Go!! - Cafe Lunch”
Reviewed January 6, 2013

OK - so it's been on the telly - that's why we went!!
BUT NOTHING prepares you for the outstanding setting, service and fayre that awaits - This is my top cafe (OK it's got a bakery ((and a good one)) rating ever!!
We had soup and a scone, a very decent size portion, choice of 3 flavours and a drink for £6!!
Irrelevant of the good value price - the quality was outstanding.
Theres no sign of the "weve been on the telly" which is humble but the cafe is amazing outstanding from which many could learn - !!10 out of 10!!
