Think of a warm welcome, typical of the country side. Then think of a beautifully located country style house. Place it within a castle (Greystoke Castle), and add a stunning garden all around it - which the owner (gardener) takes care of. You're not dreaming, you just got to this wonderful B&B, just few minutes away from the lake district.

We stayed here for just one night - the last one of our holidays, sigh - but we are definitely coming back. The place is really quiet and well furnished, the living room is absolutely amazing. The rooms are big and welcoming. The staff so kind and nice we hardly manage to stop chatting in the morning! Breakfast was lovely, all products tasted fresh and portions were huge.

A little more expensive of the average B&B, but you will understand why as soon as you get there. And you will realise it is definitely worth the money.

Room Tip: Should not you get an en-suite room, the hosts constantly keep an eye on the shared bathroom to make...

I stayed here as part of the cycling coast to coast challenge, I literally have never seen a b&b like it! The grounds are fantastic, the owners are just the nicest people ever, and the rooms are fantastic value for money. If you get a chance to stay do it! 11/10 I will be back

GROUNDS
Exceptionally pretty grounds - from a previously run stately home. Easy to find with the directions I was given by Heather (and with a satnav, of course).

WELCOME
Very welcoming, very nicely furnished. Fruit basket in addition to all the more usual refreshments in the room.

ROOM
I was shown around all three rooms. Very happy with the high level of comfort and cleanliness.

BREAKFAST
Absolutely excellent! A huge plate covering every item associated with a good Full English Breakfast. Everything had been thought of and looked very appetising. Very attentive service.

PRICE
We booked this at the very last minute, and I felt it was such good value - £40 B&B for single use of a twin room.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! I can see why it has a first-class rating on TripAdvisor and cannot speak highly enough of Stafford House, and of Heather.

Room Tip: Having been shown the double room, when Heather was showing me around, I can confirm that it looked...

An old Lodge in the grounds of Greystoke Castle, the fictional home of Tarzan's ancestors. Striking building inside and out, luxurious, spotless and comfortable rooms, tended by Hazel (and her Mum) set in magnificent gardens, thanks to the skills of Ian. We loved staying here, and have only praise for the owners and their superb service. For added interest, watch the birds and red squirrels feeding in the trees outside the windows. Five minutes walk takes you to the village and it's excellent pub/restaurant. Do go there!

Come to the beautiful Lake District of England and stay at this hotel. The staff is wonderfully helpful and kind. I felt like family. What an amazing place. So beautiful. Highly recommended! Along with the other reviews I must mention that the nearby church is a serene, lovely place. The boot and shoe in the center of the village is a great place to try local brews and I didn't get to try the food but heard it is wonderful. I would like to visit the area again, if only to stay at this gem another night.

We stayed here just last night and just want to say a massive thankyou to the Hotel hosts. They are really lovely and made us ultra welcome!

Rooms are perfect.

Breakfast was awesome with a massive range.

Location couldn't be nicer!

I can't big it up enough, everything was immaculate. Possibly the best B&B I've ever been to.

10/10. Will be booking again very shortly!!!
