Popped in on the off chance of a lunch time drink , my brother and I were half way through a full days walk . We were wet and had full gear on plus back packs . Everyone was friendly and welcoming , they even let us get dry by the open fire ! Even though we stud out there was never a problem . A big Thank You to all staff . Please go check it out

Made a last minute booking to get away and Lordore looked okay.

When we got there was surprised the hotel had a road between it and the lake so don't be misled by thinking it's right on a lakeside..it isn't. There is bit of a walk down the road to the jetty before you are by the lake.

Got a standard room and felt it a tad small..shower wasn't the best either.

Anyway moans over ;

From the start and throughout our stay the staff were without exception friendly and helpful..but it didn't come across as that kind of cold efficiency that you get in some places..these folk seem to care.

The grounds are immaculately maintained and it can't hurt to have water falls and fast moving streams on your land ..absolutely gorgeous.

The small room we had was clean and very nicely decorated.

The bar area or some of the lounge areas were very relaxing and cheerful places..we sat in front of a nice fire with drinks and could have stayed there forever.

Part of booking for a weekend was the condition we had to eat at the hotel. It really wasn't much of a condition because, for the price, the food was exceptional. Laughed to see lots of other diners swapping forks of food with exhortations to their partners to "taste this". What a happy dining experience the whole thing was.

I think they undersell their food a bit.it really was a very pleasant surprise.

Breakfast was great as well..freshly cooked food rather than buffet style.

Really enjoyed my stay here.

We stayed for 2 nights in the CatBell Suite at the end of September and would highly recommend this hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The restaurant and bar service was very efficient and the food was lovely. We enjoyed a trip by launch round the lake to Keswick to look round the town and local market. We were lucky to have calm sunny weather with just a little mist in the early morning and evening.

Room Tip: The CatBells Suite had fantastic views of the lake and surrounding hills.

Just stayed for two nights at the Lodore Falls and was very impressed with this hotel from reception to departure time when unfortunately we had to leave to return home.
The Hotel was very clean and room was immaculate when we returned after day out.
The Bar and restaurant staff where very good and friendly and nothing was too much trouble and meals where excellent.
On the second day there was a power cut affecting all in Borrowdale Valley but this was no problem as the manager and staff just worked around it and even had plans in place for meal time if power was not restored but as it worked out power was back on about 1830hrs and at 1930hrs we where sat eating an excellent meal as though nothing had happened could not believe it a credit to all staff without exceptions well done.
We will certainly visit again and would recommend the Lodore to anyone
Thanks for lovely stay
Dave and Linda

Enjoyed a great 4 day break in the Lodore Falls Hotel. Nice welcome at reception, and upgraded room after our first extra night. Restaurant and bar service was very good, as was quality and presentation of the food.

The Ladore Falls is an elegant hotel situated in spacious grounds in a stunning location within the beautiful Borrowdale Valley commanding panoramic and spectacular mountain and woodland views.
Recently I stayed here for three days. The whole of my visit was a joy.
All of the staff which I encountered demonstrated a high degree of professionalism.

Front of house at check in is Romona who is efficient, clear and concise in her dealings... a superb representative for this establishment.
My room was a Fell View room and it was very nicely appointed and was warm and comfortable.
There is a excellent bar which provides a good selection of lagers and beers - some of them are locally brewed. There was also a wide choice of wines and spirits and prices were reasonable.
The lounges are spacious and very comfortable. I enjoyed listening to the soft tones of the background music and contemplating the day with a glass or two of something really good - what joy !
The food served in the magnificent restaurant was superb. There is an excellent choice of menu at both breakfast and dinner with a diet to suit all tastes and much of the credit for this splendid presentation must go to the Head Chef Loredam Gargalac and his team.
He is customer focused and rightly so he is a proud of his catering achievements and this is reflected in the comments within the hotel guests and within other reviews right here on Tripadvisor.
Hesitate no more.Book up and treat yourself and stay here. You will be delighted that you did.
Enjoy the Ladore Falls Hotel experience.

I stayed at Lodore Falls Hotel with my friend for the three night Latrigg Break. The experience of fine dining in the Restaurant was delightful. The food was excellent. The table service was first class. Breakfast was generous and plentiful. Our eggs were poached to perfection. The assortment of fruits was interesting and it was wonderful to have porridge served as standard. The lounges are very comfortable and the grounds and gardens beautiful.
