Very spacious apartment with bathroom downstairs which was very handy when arriving back wet and with a dog covered in mud. Very well stocked with crockery and cooking equipment and a short walk along the Pennine Way into the centre of Alston. Hosts were very welcoming and helpful. I highly recommend a dip in the onsite, outdoor hot tub. Especially after a long walk or in the rain.
We both had a very enjoyable stay here, the weather wasn't so good, but the house was brilliant, and the nearby countryside was really nice too. The Hayloft offers space for 5 but we only went for 2, but it still felt warm and cosy and the owner was very keen to help with any queries. The kitchen was well stocked in terms of utilities and it was spot on. There is not a lot to do in the immediate area besides walking and a couple of pubs in Alston, but this is also a good thing depending on what you are after. After a short car journey it is easy to visit Hadrian's wall and other roman relics, as well as Hexham and some other really nice little towns. All in all, it was a really nice stay and would go back!
