What an amazing place, plenty of room for a family of 7 and 2 very happy dogs. The house is on 3 floors , a family bathroom with the best bath. All the beds are super comfy, if it wasn’t for the wonderful weather I could have stayed there. The village has everything on your door step and lovely walks. The house was well decorated with lots of lovely touches. There isn’t a garden but the courtyard was fine , we were able to sit outside and enjoy the very unexpected heat wave we are having.
I would highly recommend this place.

“Fabulous place”

This 18th century cottage has everything you need for a relaxing stay. The owners obviously love the cottage as it is beautifully furnished and maintained. The village of Alston is a delight, full of friendly local folk. There are several very good eateries within walking distance of the cottage so no need to cook but if you do the kitchen is well equipped and the village Coop sells 'everything'. There is a range of artisan shops to browse and enjoy and the village library is packed with historic delights.
This is a dog friendly let, you'll even find dog beds and bowls to accommodate your fur babies. Highly recommended.

Me and my partner stayed at Tindal House to celebrate his 30th Birthday!
We stayed in and cooked most nights as the local Spar and Coop had everything we needed for a lovely meal in and the kitchen was full of any and all appliances you could dream of!
We visited a few of the local pubs, the Turks Head was my favourite with a great open mic night on the Sunday!
We had a lovely time with the dog walking along the riverbank and walking the South Tyne Trail, highly recommend it for any one visiting.
One of the days we decided to take a trip out in the car to Beamish, it was just over an hour away and made for great day out!
We even visited the shops in Alston, I would recommend Alston Whole Foods the cheese is amazing as was the service as we got to try before we buy.
Overall the cottage was warm and cosy with lots of space to entertain and enjoy as a couple.
We can’t wait for our next visit to the perfect home away from home!

We enjoyed an amazing weekend at Tindal house for a family birthday surprise. This house has everything you could possibly need, a home from home. Fantastic location for stunning walks, pubs on the doorstep, several lovely shops for an extra special gift or souvenir. Will definitely return!

We had a long weekend in Alston during freezing January. The house is lovely and has everything you need for a comfortable stay - we loved the cost nights in the lounge and Netflix is a bonus when it is too cold to go out! Best thing is that the house is right in the middle of town, meaning it's just a few short steps to the local pubs (The Cumberland is worth the extra walk) and shops.

Had a lovely chilled week here, everything you need on the doorstep: butcher, baker, co op & spa, chip shop, Indian & several pubs serving food my favourite being the Angel. House like home from home with some lovely touches. Amazing walks on the doorstep & excellent lunch at the Tynedale Railway.
